Ordered Premium AWD ... factory or aftermarket window tint recommendations?

Long time listener, first time caller! Just ordered the Premium AWD yesterday. Coming from a 2015 F150 that has served me well over the years.

Quick question: What to do about window tinting? When ordering, it asked me if I wanted any window tint. I skipped it. Am I better setting this up on the order page with Tesla or just going direct to a vendor? I live in Florida and am curious what you all have done as far as the tint is concerned. Thanks and pretty excited!

I didn't tint, and living in Texas I regret it sometimes lol. But I'd be more annoyed by a tint job that wasn't absolutely perfect.

I'm assuming that there is some sort of UV protection or small amount of tint on the factory windows. I've added tint on a couple of cars in the past, but just haven't really felt that it was necessary lately on the last few Teslas I've purchased. I do have the roof glass internal sun shade installed, and I think that helps a little. But I haven't missed installing aftermarket tint lately. YMMV....

I tinted all windows and roof glass 5%. No regrets. Aesthetically it makes it uniform and bada**.

It’s an option in the app to get expel ppf wrap or window tint. If you purchase through Tesla you get the factory warranty on the tint.

Someone posted a Pic of the 26 having a darker tinted roof now. A couple of shades darker than previous, like 35% vs 20%

Tint is CT is amazing. Prior to having tint I recall feeling like my skin was being singed when in direct sun and driving. With good quality tint that does not happen. Definitely a get-r-done. As to Tesla quality and cost compared to elsewhere I am unsure.

Check out tsportline, they have a video showing how to do their DIY. It looks to me like it is reasonable to do yourself. I’ve got a premium AWS ordered and plan to try DIY wrap and tint

You are correct. Still a warranty unlike if you purchased outside of Tesla and had to have your glass replaced. Tint is expensive.
