I'm in shock learning all of this, and all started when a month ago I had a PCS failure and got a quote of 6k. In less than 2 years I drove over 50k miles, however seeing the posts, this is something to be worry about, Tesla should take this seriously, specially when this is across all their vehicles.

How do we go class action?

My Beast failed and was replaced for around 7k @ 54000 ish miles
I’m about get out of this truck and trade it in! This is probably why they aren’t offering the extended warranty on the trucks, but every other vehicle has it.

I have 30K on my 2024 FS AWD and had the PCS fail a week ago and replaced and got my truck back yesterday. They told me it is a new part. It is the only failure I have experienced beyond my wiper. I would think that trading in for a new truck or buying a used truck would present other risks so I am inclined to keep my truck. That said, I am hoping that the powers that be will force Tesla to recall this part and force them to solve the problem. I also believe that this should be included in the power train warranty but that is just me.

I should that when I got the error that I couldn’t use AC charging I had 50% SOC but I live 20 miles from any SCs so we tried going to an SC (the app suggested that would work) before going home but that didn’t work. So I basically didn’t go anywhere until I got a repair appointment which, luckily for me, they prioritized because when I first booked an appointment it was 3 weeks out. So yes, I was scared but I’d have felt much worse had I been out on the road somewhere.
Were there any warnings signs before the failure or does it just happen out of the blue?

I created a service request to see if they would replace mine pre-emptively since I have a big road trip coming up. I kind of expected them to say no but they accepted the request and I have an appointment this Thursday for which they ordered parts. Interestingly, the repair estimate is $480. I know they always give you a price in case the repair isn't covered but I'm curious to see how this goes. I'll ask them to cover it under warranty since it would be fully covered if it failed but I can also see how I'm asking them to do work they may not need to do so I need to contribute. $480 is a steal if this happened out of warranty and I was entirely on my own. Of course, I'll bring donuts so maybe that will help :)

Mine never failed completely, but has been charging at home at 50% for a while now. I guess that’s a warning sign. I have an appointment for next week and they approved PCS replacement under warranty. I have 16k miles.

Out of the blue. We drove 20 miles from home to a breakfast restaurant, put the car into dog mode, went to have breakfast, came back and started driving to the dog park, and the warning came on.

I expect if you went into Service Mode you'd see one or more PCSxxx fault codes.

I tired the same and they said they would charge me… maybe I should just ask them to replace it. That way it will extend the time for the part to be covered.

Mine just failed at 37K miles. I had an appointment due to it would only charge at 24 amps. Then it completely failed and would not charge at all from any source. Luckily They picked up my truck and had it complete in less than 24 hours at no cost.

Sucks for you high mile guys. But even with my early VIN, I still have over 2 years of bumper-to-bumper warranty remaining. I'll sleep well. What's the alternative? Not having a Cybertruck I suppose. Or taking the hit to trade for one that might be better, or might just as well suffer some other issue that hasn't yet revealed itself. Welcome to cars.

Besides, the toy that I got rid of for this truck was a Porsche with a non-upgradeable IMS that if it blew would have cost me more than the car was worth to replace (not to mention the ever present threat of bore-scoring.) LOL JUST SEND IT

I keep wondering about what might trip it… did you use the truck bed outlets frequently? A guy in the Reddit forum told me his went while using his welder on the bed outlet. I’ve only pushed the higher amp outlet when plugging my camper into it.
No, I used them very rarely and only the 110VAC with light loads. Not at all in the last month. Never used the interior outlets. Plugged into the home charger every night, with a scheduled charge to 80% except maybe once per month when taking a long trip, set it to charge to 100% on those rare occasions.
