As a reservation holder that hasn’t been invited to order an FS Cybertruck I have been thinking about what ordering will be like after FS is done.

Mostly this thinking started when Tesla stopped FS invitations. Anyway, I see no reason why Tesla would continue the invitations in a post-FS world. They could just let everyone order and then fill the orders in ‘sequence’ (whatever that means). That is how all the other Tesla vehicles get ordered.

Thoughts?

Elon said they are almost sold out for 2024. I wish someone asked what he meant by that.
To me it gives credence to 2024 being the year of the foundation series. Depending on production ramp, we might get a few more rounds of FS invites once they catch up on deliveries. My 1/17 VIN activated, 1/22 VIN assigned, has a 2/14 delivery date. This seems like the norm right now.

Probably better to deal with people closer to point of sale, particularly regarding financing.

So far they have delivered trucks in approximately three states (CA, TX, FL), leaving approximately 47 more to bring online. I think someone in one of the forums was told their service center was waiting for a team to come and do their training before they could deliver trucks. Unclear how many such training teams exist. I think it could easily take many months just to get enough service centers trained up on the truck before they can do widespread deliveries. I keep hoping we will see a sudden dump of vehicles and deliveries in like 10 new states in a week, but so far there is zero evidence to suggest that’s going to happen anytime soon.

I agree, but getting information out of Elon that he doesn't volunteer on his own has never worked out.

I don't believe comments like that any more (learned my lesson, finally). For one thing, their production rate is changing all of the time, so Tesla cannot possibly know how many they will make in 2024. We know that they started the year off at close to 250 per week (if they were building every day, which they aren't), and that they are at a rate closer to 500 per week (if they were building every day) now. I do believe that they will double production at least 3 times this year, so they could be up to 2,000 per week before the end of the year. Elon has always said (for every vehicle they build) that production is exponential, we just don't know what the period for doubling is. If they double every quarter then by April they would be up to 500 per week, by July up to 1,000 per week, and by October up to 2,000 per week. Is that how Elon is talking when he "says" they are almost sold out for 2024, because that would probably amount to about 50K vehicles. I do not think that they have sold close to 50,000 vehicles if less than 1,200 have been noted here. So I don't buy the statement. There is, sadly, a huge space between where we are and where 'sold out for 2024' might mean.

My VIN info was provided to me on 2/8 and I’m in the 1700’s. So they are closing in on 2k

The FS is supposed to be 1,000 unit limited run.

But it appears Elon will be squeezing the juice of this very very profitable line.

So who knows when the supply of fools with money to be parted will run dry.

Maybe this was true before November, but they will make way over 5000 and probably many more.

Just curious. Where did you get the 1000 FS unit limit?
