Several of us have gen 3 wall connectors, and these are theoretically compatible with Powershare if we have Powerwalls and a gateway installed. Per Tesla, "Our preferred home charging solution is the Wall Connector or the Universal Wall Connector on a 240 V circuit, but any generation of Wall Connector is compatible with Home Backup if using Powerwall."

However, I have never seen a Powershare icon in my app with the truck plugged in to my gen 3 wall connector which is backed up to my powerwalls v2, nor have I seen any Powershare options in the menus in the CT. All software/firmware in CT/wall connector/gateway are up to date to the best of my knowledge (judging by revision numbers) and all are connected to wifi.

Does anyone have Powershare working with their CT and powerwalls, or are we all in the same boat? Does anyone have Powershare working with UWC + powerwalls (meaning, is it just because I have a gen 3 WC that Powershare is not working--in which case I'd gladly swap out my gen 3 WC for a UWC)?

I saw a similar discussion on TMC but I feel this forum is more helpful for CT topics.

(I started thinking more about this after the LA wildfires began, because redundancy in backup is I think a good thing)

We're all still waiting on Tesla to create the required software for Powershare to work with Powerwalls, as well as with solar.

I did see that, and that’s the part that they’ve recently changed… It used to say something to the effect of late 2024. So it sounds like we’re all in the same boat ? I was somewhat hoping that it was as simple as buying the UWC and it would magically start working.

Yes, it's super frustrating. A $1.24T company can't afford to hire enough programmers to develop a software solution that prioritizes brand loyalty (folks like you and I that had powerwalls before the truck came out).

I just signed a contract for a large ground mount solar array with 3 powerwalls and the charger connection for my truck. I knew that powershare didn't work with 400 amp service. I found out from my installer (Tesla approved) that each 200 amp panel I have has to be powered individually so the lower demand side of my house I will have the 2 poweralls, and the heat pump side will have one powerwall and the truck as backup. This will take approximately 6 months to get finished so hopefully we will have the software working by then. One half the solar will go to each panel so it is like setting up 2 individual houses if you have 400 amp service.

I now have owned my Cybertruck for 10 months and still no power share. It seems our Teck Company can't figure out how to get our trucks connected if you have Tesla Solar Panels, Tesla Power Walls and Home Charger. I don't remember seeing any notation from Tesla saying anything about that when i paid $99.000 for the truck. Still Waiting

Impressive! How big is your place for you to have such power needs?

If you have a PowerWall then you have solar and Tesla hasn’t publicly released software/firmware to manage systems with solar. We are all in the same boat. I was in contact with someone on the WallConnector team over a problem pairing my phone to the gateway but they stopped responding. I have to believe that they are being bombarded by people like us with this kind of request since we were all told that these systems would be made functional before the end of the year.

I emailed the powerwall team and got the response below on 12/16. Sometime in 2025- but unfortunately I don’t put a lot of faith in Tesla targets-

I think that's a lot of BS. This should have been done before the release of the trucks there was nothing mentioned about it not being available when we bought the trucks, and they are still saying it has power share with no foot notes.

It's two links in from the Cybertruck page, but it is there...
