Would have been nice to get free lifetime supercharging instead for those of us who had Foundation and ordered the range extender. This is just a slap in the face at this point.
Except for those of us who ordered when I did in June and the website wouldn’t allow you to even order the range extender for an undetermined period of time. I never fought them about it and I guess I saved myself losing a bunch of interest on money that would’ve just been sitting in their account instead of mine. ??‍♂

Confirmed. I got the mail also. Now I don’t have to worry about the decision and I don’t have to save up the money, but I do wish they were still going to offer it.

Yeah, I ordered at the end of May and zero option to put a deposit down.

I suppose it is. I am disappointed for sure. First they dropped the 500-mile trim, which was big for me (the tri-motor never was for the power), and they effectively dropped the best-trim range as the AWD has the range of the old 2-motor variant. And now this. Bummer.

At this point they really need to get 500w charging out and the current charge curve fixed for our trucks to be much more than an around town SUV

Not only that, but for FS people who took delivery early on, then the APR incentives, free supercharging, the recent 1 year FSD.

For some people this isn’t much but for me it is. I drive about 20-30k a year, and supercharge quite often. Some of those drives are about 4-5 hrs long.

With my old TDI vehicle I was able to make that trip without any stops and almost 45 min shorter (no supercharging time) with probably 1/4 of a tank of diesel left. With the possibility of the range extender it would have been close.

As a follow through, the email should be followed by an option to “purchase” Unlimited Supercharging for Life for a reduced rate.

Followed by offering it free afterwards after we have purchased to everyone who put a deposit. The usual Tesla BS. Tesla obviously knew the range was an issue, which is why they even considered a range extender. People don’t buy trucks because they want to be efficient, they buy them for the utility or off-road capability.

To use a truck as a utility like towing or off-roading and putting more aggressive tires, bumpers and gear all lower the limited range of the battery pack as it is.

They will, but we have to be patient. They need a LOT of data to determine how safe it is to crank up the level 3 juices.

Tesla knows (data) that few Cybertruck owners who'd road trip have done successfully and majority of the Cybertruck or pick up truck owners just commute, commute & commute. There's instant disappointment but everybody really loves Cybertruck. I hope Tesla will focus more on smaller trim of Cybertruck with same tech-Cybertruck will definitely dazzle the world-let's be honest/real. ?

Speak for yourself, efficiency is extremely important to consider; if not actually the primary metric to judge on who makes it in the EV truck market, and who doesn't.

Tesla and Rivian are sitting very nicely. Others, definitely not.
