No doubt, Ford is going to light their ICE division on fire and push it out to sea. There was a podcast a year or two ago that looked at Ford's debt and over valued legacy infrastructure, which makes up a chunk of their portfolio.

They're going to set up a firewall and let that stuff go.

Exactly. I'm going by snippets… I don't soak in Rivian stuff… I just accidentally skim it.

I also saw something along the lines of 150,000 in Dubai by 2025. Don't know which is right. Don't care lol

Dubai ?

I can really see Fazlul Karim, CT reservation holder now :

HEY ABDUL ....... Hold by Beer !

They calculated 2024-2025 as the time when they would be to the point of being unable to hide their fate.

That’s exactly it. Even if he isn’t the CEO of Neo Ford (Neon Blue?), he is still likely to get a big bonus for successfully calving the company and scuttling the mothership discretely. Farley and the board will make out like bandits while the Ford bag holders are $F… cked.

I think the Dubai chatter is Lucid. Unless you are thinking something else.

Sure, there is inflation but Imo it seems the most likely reason to raise the price this high is that they are not very good at mass production, as expected for their first consumer truck. With a huge pre order backlog it only makes sense for them to raise the price. Sadly, I think they pissed a lot of people off who won't forget about it. Let's just hope this doesn't happen to others with Ford, GM, Tesla.

When they thought they would have the pickup truck market to themselves, Rivian originally priced their truck higher. They lowered their prices in response to the Cybertruck launch. They had an idea their pricing would be high and just caved to competitive pressure and the need to IPO.

The truck was meant to be Rivian’s Roadster and it’s gotten out of control. They got themselves into a situation where they had tens of thousands of trucks sold at prices they couldn’t manufacture for a profit.

Musk talking about Rivian production.

3 years is a long time to wait.
dont know about 3 years.......I have talked to executives at Aptera, and they tell me they are farther along than we think....I expect to see 2023 deliveries.....the info I have makes me a better guesser on Aptera than the CT.......still no giga press and no one is questioning that....its good to see "Y's" rolling out.....the colors though are indicative of the fact that the more expensive cars are first off the line as black and blue cost more......but, I shall just have to wait like everyone else...... and sometimes vent my frustrations

It's going to be extremely hard to find Rivian buyers at the new prices. They are burning their bridges with the buyers willing to do so at already high prices. I get that they are having difficulty ramping up and getting paid quickly on existing orders, when production pace sucks, and
you need 3 times the hours planned to get a final product, which equals zero profit.

But I was thinking a $40k decrease might get me interested in those headlights and Honda Ridgeline body, not a $20k increase, so we are $60k apart.

Good luck with resale value

It looks like Rivian will most likely fail. Buyers backing out by the 1000's. You can't ramp up at too exorbitant prices, with one YouTuber posting a 22.4% increase on what was already a very expensive, non-compelling, meh, pickup.

Yes, but what about the headlights, bro? Ever seen a Dyson, fan? Bruh!

I do not think Rivian will fail, just taking longer to hit the magic sales number.

Risky investment opportunity if you can predict bottom unless you take your investing advice from bears.

See, bears are adversaries of all EVs, not just Tesla. ?
