I hope the rumor is true. And that buying the pre-cut wrapping material (from 3M or from Tesla) will be an option. (You could then buy an extra set, to use if the original is damaged.)

Given the simplicity of the CT shape I'm sure there will be tons of "CT Wrap Kits" for sale

I just don't wanna pay Tesla ~$2,000 for something like that (making up numbers there)

I hope so, but am unaware of any such kits presently available. (I think Land Rover lines are almost as simple as the CT's.) And with the work involved, the extra cost might be similar to what you'd pay a wrap shop.

I could be out of line here, but I don't see any need for wrapping the stainless steel exoskeleton. To me it seems like a totally absurd waste of money.
You're not out of line, there is no need whatsoever, and it is a waste of money.

But that's what I'll do so I'll have a big smile on my face whenever I see my vehicle.

Only "needs" I can see: a business or you have lots of CTs in your area and you want to be able to find yours in the crowd or you really hate the look of SS.

None of those apply to me. But I really look forward to seeing how everyone else wraps theirs.

I would bet Tesla will charge over $5k for a wrap.

I could see putting some vinyl decals on mine to make it look like the M35 Mako from Mass Effect. Got my own vinyl plotter so cost would be practically free for me.

I just want the dark SS color Elon talked about, if it's through and through. I don't want a scratch to show through with bright SS across the dark. Blah

I expect it to be solid dark SS, and very much hope so. I could see like a cool slightly darker than the SS, pic of something significant, on the huge flat hood - maybe a soft spinning/burning earth.

There are far too many people that don't believe that we're having such a negative impact on earth today. They think there are no consequences for their actions, and that saddens me. Though I try to live life in a happy and positive way. peace

I can guarantee you one thing. The Cybertruck is going to be the the most wrapped vehicle in automotive history. Aftermarket wheels will be the second most popular modification.

Owners will want to stand apart from the sea of silver stainless steel CT’s that will be everywhere. Every car hauler leaving the Austin plant with a load of brand new Cybertruck’s will look identical.
