Ok Y’all. Today was the last prototype fitting session! Things are looking great! The tailgate cover is dialed in. The sail panels are perfect. The only adjustment is to the upper 2 sail panels which need to be extended about 1/4 inch to butt up to the lower sail panel and a few other edge details. Jasper says if you’re wanting a set he is ready to start taking deposits to order material. From deposit to delivery should be 4-6 weeks. The attachment nuts are still a point of discussion. The latest version is bigger and bulkier than the last type that nobody liked but the ultimate plan is to have a robust attachment for stainless crossbars. Jasper may switch to a flat head with a bevel to achieve a more flush mount look. He’s going to comb through the McMaster Carr catalog… Here’s a bunch of pictures!!!

No seam welding has been done in any of these pictures but rest assured every corner will have a clean tig weld if there is a gap or corner to be sealed.

I told him to calculate time /material/labor and lock in a price. Price will not include shipping as that is hard to predict. If your anywhere near Escondido Ca you can arrange pick up/installation.

Love the bevel on the inner lip of the tailgate cap. Makes it nice and rigid and allows plywood etc to slide in easily.

Will be sold as follows

1. Tailgate cover and 2 Lower Sail Panels plus any necessary hardware. $1600

2. Tailgate cover alone. $550

3. Add lower sail panels later $550 each

4. Add upper sail panels above doors. $300 each.
Pricing does not include tax or shipping.

This will be top notch quality. All seams will be TIG welded and metal finish will mimic original Tesla metal finish. Made in America

We were loosely scheduled to do a photo shoot this weekend with all the final finish welded pieces but my wife said I had to hang out with her so I anticipate the grand reveal of the first finished set next weekend….!!!

nice!! I am working on making a set from diamond plate.

I've built many a product with Aluminium ( ALU_MIN_UM ) 'CHECKER' plate and it usually ends up BAD like Michael Jackson's : WHO'S BAD!?!?!
