Sorry you all feel so grumpy about this...I really don't understand. All of the FS CTs have FSD. FSD works very well. Don't think that "Autopilot" was ever promised on the CT, and I'd wager that it will be going away on all of the other models soon as well.

All the other new Tesla cars get AutoPilot (AutoSteer & [T]ACC) for *free* with the purchase of the car.

Tesla would like to force you to pay for FSD on your CT ... ideally pay them monthly.

Keep in mind that other car companies outside of the USA are providing AP/EAP/FSD like features for free on their cars. China is the biggest car market. Tesla won't remove AP for free on their other cars as the competition is already >= in various features.

Other Tesla car manuals state:
Tesla Cybertruck Use regular Autopilot on the CT? l6JFgTV

At least you have three minutes to react to the lane changes. It starts the blinker at t-minus 3 minutes before it moves over.
Ain't that the truth!! LOL

I could be wrong, but I am guessing they don't have base Auto Pilot working yet, and this is a way of giving everyone the FSD for free to gather data, and finish that part of the code. It doesn't say it will NEVER be available, but it could mean that also. I'll go with the FSD for the year for free, and depending how it goes, maybe 99/month will be worth it. Also thinking they might eventually lower that price, or add back in autopilot. Who knows.

It is on the order agreement, “Base Autopilot - Included” , for my non-FS Cybertruck.

It's that what makes me think this is just a timing issue. Or the future plans are to eventually include FSD (once it's ready) for free . . . or a very low add on.

I stand corrected. I didn't realize it was on the order agreement. In that case just take the year of FSD and complain next year if they try to charge you for it. It now sounds to me like they are giving you consolation in lieu of AP not quite ready....hard to understand why it wouldn't be ready, but typical of Elon's timeframes....

Bingo, over promise, under deliver, then when it is, never reference it was late!

Since on the order agreement, someone might win in court.
Well, the order agreement says base autopilot, not basic autopilot and the Cybertruck Owner's Manual doesn't mention Autosteer. The Autopilot features listed in the Cybertruck manual are TACC and FSD. Referencing the owner's manual of another vehicle for a list of features included in a slightly differently named feature isn't likely to go too far.

The easy explanation for why Autosteer will never be available in the Cybertruck is that it's a completely different and obsolete software stack that will never be ported to the Cybertruck. I'm not really sure why they aren't just feature locking different capabilities of the FSD stack into separate products (Autosteer, Highway FSD, FSD, etc) at different price points.

I would like a persistent option to eliminate all or only unnecessary automatic lane changes as well as an option to approve lane changes before it signals. FSD is getting better and better, but it still makes lots of decisions that I wouldn't and that limits how often I use it.

Earlier versions of the manual did mention Autosteer.

Interesting, I wonder how that change aligns with the availability of non-FS trucks without FSD.
?‍♂ Staying positive though. At first, I read the free-trial email as (italics by me)...

"Autosteer will not be available for Cybertruck outside of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), forever"

So yea, I wasn't happy. I don't care for FSD but like Autosteer.

The preceding sentence says "As we improve our Autopilot technology, our
feature sets will change." (emphasis by me) So I'm reading the following sentence more like...

"Autosteer will not be available for Cybertruck outside of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), during the trial period."

What would be nice is an explanation on this. Old focused Elon might parse words and bend a few, but address the issue. Now it is the surprise email that is in the inbox. Yes not affected as I have a FS, but locks in my Slate offering because of the DBagery of Tesla.

Be careful what you sign away when you accept the free year of FSD. This is just very very poor corporate behavior. They deserve a class action on this.
