In that case, might as well question if they care to make an effort to have power windows.
Are you suggesting the number of people who want removable doors is similar to the number who want power windows?

Haven’t seen the numbers but I find this unlikely.

Put another way: Tesla is going to invest time and energy into making a truck that has broad appeal. The more niche an idea, the less likely they will spend effort on it.

so...yeah...imagine putting something on the dash and coming to a quick stop. Result - whatever is up on that dash had a nice 4 foot runway before hitting the bottom of the windshield. Not sure if any car has this characteristic...wonder why? nice to have a big table sitting in front of the driver / passenger for stuff to float around on? The reality - rigid design aspects because of Elon tantrums. Would be challenging to be a designer on this project.

Minivans have a similar issue.

It’s definitely going to be a weird no-man’s land. Maybe put some Astro turf or shag on the dash to prevent slippage.

Zoom in and you'll see that you have an area that appears to be alcantara lined, you get more space to place whatever you want and it's less likely to move about compared to the slick surface of a typical dash. Not that you should be driving around with unsecured items on your dash anyway.

Wonder what sort of VIP guests get brought out to the track to take turns driving the CT and roadster

I guess a drop was added to prevent items from slipping out easily, and also makes more room to squeeze in and clean. This is good.

However, if the dash is used to store items such as manila folders etc., What a mess.

Good way to shuffle cards. Or job specifications or plans. Who knows maybe someone will score a three storey house instead of a bungalow?

I've said this before, but I think the dash is big enough for a kid, or small adult, to sleep accross it when camping.

Future Owner’s pro tip:

Get a dashboard cover. Then when something slides forward you can use the cover to pull it out. Also, it’s going to be impossible to clean up there so having a removable cover you can clean will be A+

Not a bad idea although personally I don't find myself putting stuff on the dash.

Something would slide forward if you stop, but it's not accelerating. The object is decelerating, just at a slower rate than the vehicle it is in. It's not a runway. If anything it would hit the windshield with less force than a smaller dash, but only by an insignificant amount.

...so - I have a 2019 Ram, new model, and I'm not sure what you mean. I don't have 4 feet of dash space between the steering wheel and the bottom of the windshield as the cyber seems to have. Not sure what I would do with all of that space if I had it. A big waste of space... I'm like 3k in line - and not a fan of that wasted space. I get it - nice frunk - but I use my dash alot, seems stupid...
It's not a "waste" of space, the space in question doesn't exist on your Ram, due to the more upright windshield. They moved the base forward to create better aerodynamics and easier construction with stainless steel. The space you're complaining about is outside the vehicle on a traditional vehicle.
