That’s ludicrous!!!

The performance of a sports car, the utility of a pickup truck.

If only we knew the length of that straight.

I have compromised internet (and yet somehow this website works fine) but someone could use a top down maps view to measure the distance then time the run and figure out first a quarter mile time then interpolate a 0-60. With a rough guess I'd say just over 11 seconds for the quarter mile and a zero to 60 <3.5 seconds. Maybe top speed around 120? Or I could be completely wrong...
Using Google maps, it looks like the CT started around the 20 sec mark and slowed way down around the 30-32 sec mark so 10-12 sec. Here's the distance, 1200+ feet, so a bit less than a quarter mile. A quarter mile in 10 sec is really fast, the Plaid beats this but not really by much.

Hi All,

Been lurking for a while. finally signed up. Have a relatively early reservation made mid December 2019. Not that means a lot, I understand :)

Anyway, here's what Google Earth shows for the distance between start and what looks to me to be letoff on the run. Oddly enough its right around a 1/4 mile. Lots of estimate slop, so IMO between 13-14 seconds for that, but we do not know it it was full hammer down and if so, was that for the full 1/4.

Check out the full out acceleration from a stop at 20 second mark! πŸš€

Nice. The CyberTruck needs to appear in the next iteration of Death Race and/or Mad Max. I love how different it is.

According to my very rough estimate, using this video, the arrows on the pavement, Google Earth and my calculator, this truck accelerates from a stop and gets to the 2nd arrow, which is ~561 ft (191 m) from its starting point in 7.2 seconds. This is an average of 77.9 ft/sec (23.75 m/sec) or 53 mph (85.5 kph). That seems really quick.

Does anyone know a good formula for guestimating the truck's velocity at the 2nd arrow (561 ft) mark?

Using your data I compute an acceleration of 21.6 fps2 and a speed of 106 mph at the 2nd arrow. Also 0-60 mph in 4.0 sec. [now what could be stupider than math in public?]

We can't tell. Only one of the trucks so far has been labeled.

If I was managing the CT project I would focus all testing on the dual motor first and GTM with it first. There is so much new on this truck that reducing variables and working on a baseline with only one variant would be the fastest way to get to market. Tri-motor can come later, thats how I would do it.... Has anyone seen any signs of the tri-motor yet?

There are not too many people that have owned R1T or Lightning and regretted buying one. And I doubt there will be many that will regret buying a CT precisely for the reason you noted here.
