All you need to do is watch the movie with Ewan McGregor in LONG WAY UP, in 2020. When they were testing the Rivian prototype.

I got my Model Y 6 months after deliveries started and it is still an amazing vehicle without any issues. If I had to guess I would say I was one of the first 100k. Unfortunately they came out with a bunch of updates 3 months after I got mine so I think probably being around 200k in line is a good spot to have the bugs worked out and any new upgrades released.
It was a couple of years ago but when Elon was asked what segment of the production release he thinks is the best choice, Musk said very early models as they get much more scrutiny and then later post ramp up models as the production processes are refined. Makes sense.

Are you any relation to Del Griffiths? He was in sales too ... as I recall it was shower curtain rings. :)

In looking at the suspension pix I am searching for hydraulic lines of any kind trying to find evidence for-or-against brake-by-wire. I see one flex line going to the wheel but I do not think brake fluid would use a flex line would it?

Looks like a brake line to me. (Not sure how you can account for suspension travel with a "non-flex" brake line??)

I hadn’t thought of that, obviously. Sadly it looked like a brake line to me too. I really liked the idea of brake-by-wire.

Why? Things like brake by wire, steer by wire are concerns that could end up being a deal breaker for me (ie complete reliance on computers doing their thing). No physical drive selector is another potential deal breaker.
