Just for s#!ts n' giggles — what would y'all think of an 8-piece (4 pcs. per side) rubberized door protector set that would adhere to the door panels, visually breaking up the expansive stainless steel sides of the CT?

Btw, the "protection" would not be for the doors so much as for whatever it is the doors might make contact with! ?

I think your virtual protection strip looks nice, especially with the gradual widening as it progresses. It would protect shopping carts and other vehicles from the CT doors too. :D

RC1 -> RC2 -> confirmation builds -> saleable builds (actual production)

they are still making RC1s. Musk is sitting in an RC1 in this tweet.

  • RC1/2 are essentially incrementally more refined units, as result of incrementally refining/validating production tooling, parts, and assembly processes; if things go very well, could skip RC2 (or meaning lessens), where if things don't go as plan could end up with RC3 etc.
  • confirmation builds are essentially units coming off the ~entire production line for purposes of the last level of validation
  • retail/saleable builds are what it sounds like, and the first of THOSE units coming off the line is when proper "production" has begun
But like you said a day or so ago there is nothing in the last digits of the VIN that tell us what RC level they are on now, so I guess we have to live with the rumor mill.

Why would the doors make contact with anything? Cybertruck is not a vehicle for A-holes.

Damn, that's a beautiful truck!

Huh? Why would you think you would need to protect the Cyertruck from shopping carts?

Might be able to guess on its height but not the length. I really wish the photographers would take better shots perpendicular to the CT using a 50mm lens (full-frame 35mm camera so 1:1) so we could get a better idea of the actual size. It would be better if Tesla would finally release specs.
SPEC'S sure to be out soon. Better for all us CYBERMUGS in need of the 'figs'
Guess is 5678mm or 224" or 18' 8" but that could be 1" too short, compared to the finished CT.
We can expect as much as 4" under 19'.

It looks like Tesla’s CEO just gave the green light for the 2024 Cybertruck. His smile behind the wheel says it all.

The referral invite also just went out. We should have a Cybertruck delivery day event date within a week or so.
