and I assume it’s first retail delivery batch as opposed to the insider delivery event

since they haven’t announced either delivery date, folks were really bidding pretty blind on when they’d get the unit other than say “soon”

The winner is almost certainly not the first owner here is what he/she won: " (the ability) to skip the long waiting list for the Tesla Cybertruck and purchase a low-VIN 2024 example." No one won a truck because that wasn't what was auctioned, which was simply a place near the front of the reservation line. This isn't a confusing thing....

It was most likely donated by Tesla. The publicity they received for the Cybertruck was off the hook.

I visited the Peterson Museum to see the concept in person. It’s radical!

Petersen seems to frequently have something tied to the cars that they show. I watched another car show that had a vehicle was requested by the Petersen and the deal was that they weren't going to pay anything for the car. The car had to be donated. I thought from the beginning that there was likely a similar deal with the CT, but i couldn't imagine they would give them the prototype. So it looks like this was the deal. The Petersen showed the prototype but they got to get a production version to auction off once they were available.
