I think this should be a good way to gauge the aspects of the CT that people are happy with / unhappy with. (lmk if I missed something important)
I didn’t hear or read anywhere about the charging. Did you?

OMG. The tears are insane.

People cherry pick two specs and cry like their mother just hit them.
I might have to take a few weeks off from the forum so that the people who placed all of their hopes and dreams on getting a $70k CT that would tow 14k and get 500 miles in range finally burn out.
My challenge to all the broken hearted... go out tomorrow and buy the truck with all the specs you're pissed the CT didn't give you. Go ahead.
Or just wait for the Silverado and any number of other trucks that will eventually come out, or wait for Tesla to get the battery performance and cost right…waiting might be in the cards.

I think Tesla missed the boat on this truck. I think most people could care less for adjustable ride height, 4 wheel steering. I think those could be standard on top model but base model should be stripped down and have a model that could be bought for a work/ daily driver for around $50-59k like the dual motor was supposed to.

I've had 16 hours to think about it. Agree with what someone else said, while the initial reveal had unreal stats/price that made it appealing, in reality it is comparable to a Model X which I just bought 3 weeks ago. If I can justify that, I should certainly be able to justify this to my brain.

I think we should note that Tesla has very long history of pricing at a premium at launch and dropping pricing after a year or so. The Model 3 P launched at $75k but now sits at $51k. The Model S Plaid launched two years ago at $131K. Now $90k. Based on this history, we should expect Beast Mode to be at around $80k by Spring 2025 and Dual Motor to be at $60k by then.

I disagree. You can buy a F150 Lightning right now and Ford would be grateful because they’d lose less money because they’re selling them at a net loss. Tesla’s car prices have always fluctuated so saying they’re only a certain percentage greater than some point in history is irrelevant. They have been producing those cars and making the process more efficient to the point their margins are greater so offering a $2000 discount means they just make less profit, but they still profit. Would it have still been a disaster if it wasn’t 30K more? Yes, the specs weren’t what he promised, so what. The complaint about it going up so much is all based on individual opinions and not on their actual costs or investment. You think Tesla was able to secure everything to make this truck at 2019 costs? But it’s shitty of them not to sell it to you at that price? Oh ok.

Same charging speed as other Teslas, 250 kw max.

This speed is very telling of just how far off they are on the 4680's. They were supposed to be 350KW+, but this unveiling has me a bit worried. I always assumed Tesla was 6-7 years ahead of everyone in battery tech, but now I'm thinking they're not at all. With what the Cybertruck has shown, I think 2170s are still the better cell.

Price me ANY truck with comparable features that is cheaper than ~$72k (89-7.5) brand new. lol

The price complaining is far to subjective imo.
