Given that we have some prices now, and the rebate is going to come upfront next month...
@Scott Beall suggested it.

So let's poll!

I know my situation has changed, but also, the price is higher than I can pay. I can only hope it comes down drastically.

I'll be waiting.. based on Tesla's Track record the price WILL come down. Only a matter of WHEN.

For now i'll keep pushing my current vehicle. If current vehicle fails before the CT price comes down.. well then im out 100%.

I’m still in the “bargaining” phase of grief, so I would probably try to defer a few weeks/months if given the option to do so

What happens to a reservation if an order isn't placed immediately once the coveted eMail is received from Tesla?

Thanks @Crissa!

Now Yahoo News can report:

"In a poll of in-touch reservation holders, 72% say that they would purchase the Cybertruck at the announced specifications and prices."

That would have about as much validity as their last poll of 20% of non-reservation holders, but would be great news for TSLA for once.

I'm guessing that we'll have an overall reserved/purchase rate around 40%-50%. Skewing more with the early holders who are hanging in here.

I want to buy the Beast, but I need a few more features/benefits to get me over the hump. It's funny that the Beast improves over the AWD in two opposite use-cases, locking differentials for off-roading, and acceleration for flats. Both ends of the 3rd standard deviation of uses.

That's the one I'm aiming for at this point. It's also the one with the largest increase in estimated cost, 60%.

The 60% price hike will definitely cause some reservation holders to put their purchase on hold.

If I received the configuration e-mail today I would have to think twice about following through with my purchase. I am confident those “estimated” Cybertruck MSRP’s will come down over time.

I'd buy it as soon as I'm able to. Given that I'm in Canada, and have a rather late reservation, I don't think I will get mine until 2025 at the earliest.

Will the prices be low by then? I doubt it. I don't think the prices decline until 2026.

I copied my post from another stream. Seems relative here. AWD is my target currently.
As I am somewhere in the 600K range in reservation number, I intend to keep it until it comes time to make a decision. I have not seen the truck in real life and want to see it, touch it and hopefully drive it before I commit. I am reserved for the tri-motor and that was for the 500 mile range. I intended to use this to travel with our travel trailer in my retirement. Without the 500 mile range, I see no reason to buy the Beast Mode truck. I don't care how quick it is at my age.
Still don't anticipate seeing my number come up until 2025 or 26. I have plenty of time to decide to commit or drop.

I was unhappy with the pricing, it was 10 to 15k higher then I was expecting. That said, I have decided I will still likely be moving forward with the purchase.

I test drove several other vehicles over the past week, including an F150L and a Model Y (would get with Tow-hitch), and I put all the vehicles, prices, stats into a spreadsheet breaking out my monthly costs.

The conclusion I came to is that while the Dual Motor Cybertruck is way more expensive then the announcement prices, it is still inline with the market if you compare it to available products, and most importantly it has the right blend of features that I want for my use case.

You can get an F150 Lightning XLT or Pro in the mid 50s if you are willing to have a 240 mile range variant, and that was tempting from a price and size/comfort standpoint. I really liked the cab of the lightning. But, it wouldn't be great for road trips and long distance travel, and wouldn't be as fun of a vehicle imo, and to keep features even close to the Cybertruck you are back in the 70 to 80k range for a Lariat.

So, yes, I think I am going to move forward with a purchase of a Dual Motor when it becomes available. We are going to be a one vehicle household until then because our old secondary vehicle was totalled, so if in half a year Tesla doesn't send me an invite I might reevaluate. Thankfully I am a low res number holder.
