So, model 3 and Y both have an option that's available after purchase to increase the 0-60 times.

Last I looked it was 2k for both.

Will CT dual motor get that option?

We've seen 3.9 second 0-60 and 4.1.

The 3.9 is gone now though

If it’s an option then I’ll go AWD plus boost rather than Tri.
I am out on tri because of tax. So I'm hoping it's an option.

Assumption. Mention of lockers makes me think it might be dual but I could totally be wrong.
Let me rephrase it then. If boost is available then I’ll take the All-wheel drive rather than Cyberbeast.

It’s been confirmed in so many ways that I’m not sure where to start

but maybe best starting with a question: how would you think it’s *not* a dual?

SVP of Powertrain and Energy at Tesla use the term 'tri' and 'dual' in a tweet.

Drew Baglino @baglino - SVP of Powertrain and Energy at Tesla
"Front diff locker for tri,
front & rear locker for dual."

I agree that’s why I don’t believe it’ll be an option for a while if at all. Why cut into the sales of your top trim? I’m sure many folks would get it, me included, I just don’t see them doing it right away. If it does get offered down the line I may be inclined to pull the trigger.

I mean, I agree I’d most likely purchase as an option, but what could it improve,? .5 of a second? I don’t imagine it exceeding 3aeconds for 0-60.

Anyone that is buying the beast is buying it for acceleration and, whether 3.9 or 4.1, 2.6 beats the daylights out of it. You may be right about Tesla perhaps delaying power boost for a while but I do not think that it will take sales away from people that want the fastest acceleration.
