Sorry everyone for the length here but I gotta get this off my chest.

Short Answer: Yes - I would go the Tesla stretch for the Beast.

Long Answer with a bit of rambling: I was so mad since I was a tri-motor reserver already stretching a hillbilly budget thin at 77k. I started looking at Rivians cursing at my computer screen at work right after looking at the new pricing. The hippie promo guy I work next to was like "oh whats wrong mmaaaannn you seem a little upset". I almost snapped and told him to F* off ????

But yea look I think that the truck is awesome minus the fact I have to sacrifice 16k more than the already rediculous 99k and some of my bed real-estate to get kinda-ish close to the range they advertised, but my primary objective now that I've grown from one kid back in 2019 to 3 is to fit all three beautiful perfect ungrateful little bastards in a bigger back seat to visit nana and pops an hour and a half away and tired of scratching my wrist in that damn model 3 trying to get the seatbelts latched (no hate intended; I do love that efficiency!). I also need to take the family to the mountains and the beach every once in a while, and screaming kids will make spending 16k the easiest thing ever.

Anyway my dad asked me when I was about 19 what car I wanted, and I told him I hated every single damn thing out there. Got a 2013 Silverado 9 years ago when I was 30 but had to sell it for the family. Didn't miss it though - its handling sucked in wet conditions, was cheaply made, and 14 mpg was just dumb. I kkkkinda came around to the model Y, but it's paint job is too fragile. I shit you not I bumped it into a cart and got a little scratch in it last night. Then today I hit a bump too fast because I thought I was vin diesel and spilled coffee all over the passenger seat. That post-apocalyptic looking stainless steel refrigerator with no door handles and air suspension is all me. I love the low maintenance/no car wash guilt, the steer-by-wire, the powershare for winter outtages, the 120 and 240 volt outlets for glamping and welding, I love the frunk (albeit smaller than I had hoped for), and I love the truck is built by the best ev maker in the world; I love it all. The Rivian and lightning from anecdotal evidence are both unreliable from what I can tell, and neither have full self-driving which I'm obsessed with and know it's about to really take off here soon. Again to re-iterate: I just wish I could have all of my bed and range at the same time and really wish they made the truck pass-through. But oh well. I'll make it work.

GM hasn't even bothered to go down the list as far as I know.

Your comment made me do a Google search. Remember a while back the Cadillac lyric sold out within hours of when they supposedly took reservations. Well within 100 mi of me right now there are 18 used Cadillac lyrics on CarGurus, sitting on dealership lots. No telling how many new ones. So yeah, I think you're right. Just more b******* from automotive manufacturers!

Well, they say they've made thousands at this point. The hundred pre-orders were likely filled.

I’m actually still in the midst of my victory lap about pricing as I said id buy the 3 motor if it included all options and wasnt more than the X plaid IF it included all the options. Tesla has since dropped the price but at the time it was ~ $115k.

so I absolutely will be buying a 3 motor even though 1) I absolutely hate the name 2) I find the additional range implementation & solution for a spare to be dog shit awful 3) I am extremely skeptical of the baja-worthiness of the truck after seeing some components up close.

what I likely wont be doing however is buying all of the trucks I reserved.

I definitely won’t be buying all my trucks either. Within the first 1300 reservations (which likely means nothing) and in CA so fingers crossed that Beast will come calling!

If demand is anything like what happend with the Lightning, there will be intense interest until most everyone gets their truck but then will come a considerable cool down in demand.

I ordered my CT a month or so before i ordered the Lightning. I was late to the party on the CT so i made sure i reserved the f150L as soon as the site went live. That was around June '21.

I got my configuration email for the f150 in January of 22. They told me to order immediately or lose out my slot as there was a crush of orders behind me. I thought CT was close to production so i cancelled the f150 and got a new Sienna for the kids.

Months after canceling, and realizing the CT wait had no end in sight, i went back to reorder the lightening. That's when i found out ford had closed their reservation books because according to them, they had way more reservations than they could handle given their production speed. I think they cut it off at 200k with a promise to reopen in '23.

When i finally got the email that they were once again taking orders, i had decided to stick it out with the CT res.

My local ford dealer now has 16 undold F150L's. They offered me 1k off of a '23 XLT long range which with the POS discount of $7500 set to kick in next month is a compelling proposition.

So im looking at F150 AWD XLT 320mi after rebate at $63635 + TTL available now

Or CT AWD 340mi after rebate at $74,500 + TTL

Im leaning toward CT atm
CT all the way. I too considered a Lightning but decided against it in the end. A Lightning is just an electric F150. Great for lots of folks, but I want something different. A Cybertruck is so much more interesting.

AWD holder here at 900K positions... would take the delivery in a heartbeat if contacted.

If the reservation spreadsheet estimate is somehow correct, I would have at least until late 2026 to get my turn, given the production rate estimate and VIP priority... plenty of time to pitch in more $$$ into TSLA to keep up with inflation and hedge against the future purchase rise or drop.
I have changed my mind in the past few days. I'm with you - if offered the opportunity to purchase now I am going to take it and figure out how to pay for it later.

Mine increased over 50%, so I am out. I really wish they had honored the reservation price.

they are in the 11284xxxx range. So they are moving up the list. I bet the go through the entire list with offers for the FS series. I bet the conversion rate is less than 10%. probably 5%. this forum is for the enthusiast so the portion of buyers on here will be much higher than reality. So even with 2,000,000 preorders thats like 100,000 orders. i can easily see them holding the FS pricing to try to squeeze out as many add on sales they can get before dropping the price. the timing will line up perfect. sell FS for a year while they ramp up production and once production is full speed drop it to 80k and see how many they can sell.

I guess with 1-2 million reserrvations they can't afford to like Rivian did, plus Rivian was a start-up and couldn't afford the PR damage, guess tesla doesn't care.

I am just behind this guy as my reservation order is 11287xxxx and doing the math, I am 126 k in the queue, so if there are only 1000 FS being offered than their conversion rate is less than 1%. As you said, these are the most rabid CT fans, so what will be the conversion rate for the rest of the queue?

2,000,000 x .01 = 20,000

its already been confirmed that its going well above 1,000. I am in no way gloating but i have been right about many of my predictions. I work in a manufacturing and sales setting. They are profit maximizers. they are going to sell the FS trims until it negatively affects them. And that wont happen until CTs are piling up in the parking lot and that wont happen for at least a year. You will definitely be getting an opportunity to order the FS in my opinion.

As you may know from my sig line I am RN11302XXX. I will order if invited to do so. I watch the order list every day. I had hoped they would make 2 ‘digits’ a week but it is still just 1 (e.g., 11283 to 11284 this week).

At the LOW 113s are you hoping for a FS invite or a regular?

Feels a lot easier to say yes to a non-FS than the FS for me personally.
