Teslas used to be a target for keying a few years ago. ..until some folks learned about Sentry Mode the hard way.
Since the CyberTruck is covered in cameras and can have them on even when parked and unoccupied I would think that this will happen only a couple of times because every person who does it will likely be caught on camera and then held liable for the repairs and probably criminally prosecuted.
Are you guys sure those aren't a 'within the bubble' comments ... meaning we know all about Tesla but a TON of the normal folks do not. Heck there are many CT videos where bystanders don't even know the CT exist and only only heard of Tesla at a high level.

Yeah I’m sure my ample ass will scratch my CT more than a few times over the coming years as I try to squeeze by it in my garage that isn’t really made for full size trucks…. ?

Someone keyed mine. If a person is wearing a mask and keys your Tesla, there's a near zero percent chance you're ever going to catch the person.

A determined individual can certainly leave permanent marks on stainless steel with a brass key. I work with various metals for a living, you'd be surprised which things can scratch what. It probably won't be as bad as on paint, but it won't be nothing either.

For people that wrap their Cybertrucks, we're back to the same vulnerabilities as paint.

I want a Tesla Bot in the Vault, dressed as a Trunk Monkey from Suburban Auto Group, ready to get out and restrain whoever would key my CT while calling the police and queuing up sentry video to play for them.

I’d be more worried about someone spraying graffiti containing hydrochloric acid. Thats a favorite of the street bums in New Orleans. I just paid $800 to replace a store window damaged in this way by a vandal.
Yes SS is vulnerable to hydrochloric acid etching.

Resistance to this kind of damage is a major selling point of the SS skin being so hard. I would absolutely love to see someone destroy their keys trying to scratch a CT. Given how stupid people can be it will happen. I can see it now: “Karen gets stranded after trying to key Cybertruck - film clip at 11:00” :)
I agree I can't wait ?!

I don't know if these types of signs are effective but it might be enough of a deterrent.

I’ve been browsing other sites where people are writing really hateful comments about the looks of the Cybertruck.

I just can’t help but think this may be a target of getting keyed.

Are there ways to deter this? Maybe some kind of decals that illustrate it’s always recording?

How difficult would it be to repair keyed panels made of stainless steel?
Actually will be more of a problem with all the wrapped CTs.

Maybe we can try and not turn everything into a political debate?

On topic, as a test I just keyed my SS barbecue grill and a piece of SS boat railing, the cheap grill SS was slightly scratched and the boat railing was not. I'm thinking the CT will be closer to the boat railing in quality.

Just means more of them will put a mask on before keying or vandalizing a Tesla. A sign will not stop Tesla haters, EV haters, haters of caring about air quality.
