Cyberlandr just posted to their substack a few days ago as it happens.

https://cyberlandr.substack.com/p/preparing-for-production

Dear adventurers and explorers,

If you have been in many RVs, you will quickly notice that they are essentially collections of parts made specifically for the RV industry. Sadly, most of those parts are poorly designed or of exceptional quality. Consequently, we knew from the beginning that CyberLandr would never be the product we wanted it to be if it became just another collection of the usual RV parts bin bits. We also found that some standard RV industry suppliers were pressured not to work with us.

You might recall that Tesla ran into the same issues when it began making vehicles. So, Tesla put in the effort to get better parts and suppliers. We have been doing the same, and I am currently on my 11th flight in the last 30 days to meet with suppliers. Rather than being a pain, all these flights and meetings have re-energized me because our suppliers have been outstanding. They are all excited and honored to be part of a product as innovative as CyberLandr, and we are equally excited and honored to be working with such excellent companies. We are confident the quality difference between CyberLandr and other RVs will be obvious and result in a significantly improved experience. For example, we are confident you will find CyberLandr is easier to use, easier to clean, requires less maintenance, and is a more enjoyable place to be. It is exciting to see it all coming together.

We are still looking for the right event and venue, but the public unveiling of the improved CyberLandr will happen in the coming months. We’re confident it will prove the old adage true, “good things come to those who wait.” And we are deeply grateful for your patience and support, we truly have the world’s best customers and we are excited to hear how CyberLandr liberates your lifestyles.

My next update will start to highlight the things that make CyberLandr unique and special and will include photos. I will start with the amazing windows (yep, even the windows are special). The updates will come more frequently from now on. But don’t worry, we will keep a couple of big surprises for the unveiling. Once we are able to identify an appropriate venue/event we will let you know in case you would like to attend in person. 2025 is (finally) the year of CyberLandr!

Let the adventures begin!

Lance King
Chief Designer, CyberLandr

PS: After three years of work, our patent and trademark attorneys finally secured the registered trademark for CyberLandr®. The Patent and Trademark Office wanted to ensure no confusion with Cybertruck. We contacted Tesla, and Tesla chose not to block the registration. Thanks, Tesla!

PPS: The Cybertruck AWD (dual motor) is now eligible for the $7,500 instant federal EV rebate. Veteran’s and residents of certain states may be eligible for additional rebates. Please check with your local Tesla store for details.

This update could not have come at a better time. My wife just this evening said “let’s get our money back and look into the the Pebble Flow.” I will continue to wait for this big unveiling event. Do you need a Beta tester?

Yes, I have a Cyberlandr reserved. Now that the specs for Cybertruck are final, the people at StreamIt say they will reveal the 2nd generation design once they take delivery of their own CT. The Cyberlandr was one of the reasons I bought a Cybertruck which I should be getting in a month or two. There are lots of people who find the Cyberlandr concept untenable, and it's undoubtedly a challenging engineering project, but how wonderful if they can pull it off. I'm holding out hope that it will be delivered in 2025. My interest in the Cybertruck/Cyberlandr combination is for OHV travel without the hassles and discomforts of tent camping in my younger days. There's so much more of the country to see beyond our crowed national parks.

The OHV use case with Cyberlandr is an interesting topic in itself. Since the vault of the Cybertruck is consumed by the collapsed Cyberlandr, how does one accommodate all the stuff that camping demands? With the payload capacity of Cybertruck now known, I have some ideas of how this can be made to work.

The AWD Cybertruck has an overall 2500 lb payload capacity. The max payload capacity of Cybertruck's bed is 1300 lbs. The Cyberlandr should weigh no more than that stowed in the vault when traveling including about 100 lbs of kitchen utensils, some food, etc. The Cyberlandr will have its own small fridge, induction cook top, sink, dry flush toilet, shower, recycled water supply, convertible chair/beds, solar roof, and HVAC for all-season use.

In addition to the 1300 lbs of cargo in the bed, the weight distribution guide allows for five (5) 150 lb passengers in the cabin and 400 lbs of cargo in the frunk. For two travelers, which is what the Cyberlandr can accommodate, the space behind the front seats can be used to store 3 x 150 = 450 lbs of cargo. With the rear seats locked in the up position, and with CT's 90 deg opening rear doors, there's plenty of space behind the front seat to place a removable shelving unit to hold bulky gear like clothing, blankets, personal supplies, extra food, a second refrigerator (portable), extra water, hiking gear, collapsible chairs/table, etc. Half of that 400 lbs of rear seat capacity could be used to hold a portable propane generator and fuel when more range is needed.

It'll be hard to max out the 400 pound payload capacity of the frunk being as small as it is. I'll use it for smaller, heavier items, a canopy, tools, telescope, camera gear, etc.

If the final design of the Cyberlandr allows it to be easily removed from the bed, Cybertruck can be returned to use as apickup making the Cybertruck a truly all-purpose vehicle.
It sounds like you have thought it out. I got a reservation but have pretty much decided against it…for lots of reasons.

I’m curious as to why some manufacturers were pressured not to work with Cyberlandr. is it the Tesla stigma or fossil fuel influence?

I’m also a reservation holder and look forward to its release.

Lance is a great guy, and I hope to collaborate with him on future projects.

Did anyone go or watch the Cyberlandr Private Showing yesterday? I missed it. Any updates?

The Zoom meeting was cancelled due to technical difficulties, but apparently, the in-person private showing still took place.

Another event is supposed to be scheduled to replace it, but no word on when that will happen yet. It sounds like they bit off more than expected trying to incorporate Zoom with one of the in-person sessions Saturday (which also went longer than expected). Hopefully we'll hear more soon.

This is bad info. There were in fact two private showings that happened this past Saturday and I was at one of them. The zoom event was cancelled due to technical difficulties.
Overview of the event:
First it was about an hour sit down discussion with a power point of all the upgrades from day 1 until now. There are some pretty substantial upgrades from the initial design that we all saw 4 years ago. Then we went into the garage area and got to see the current prototype. It was unreal! I am not allowed to disclose any specifics because all of us that went signed a non-disclosure agreement. But I can say that it is bigger and has way more features than the original design. I got to go inside and it was very spacious. Reasons for the massive delays: they had a great design but then the cybertruck dimensions changed, then they had another design that they worked with for over a year. After that they came up with a better design and which is what they have currently. The design is now finalized and the whole camper does indeed fit in the back of the truck. All that is left now is to lock it in on which material they are going to use. Anticipated release is summer of next year. I will post on the forum whenever I hear of any more updates. I talk to Lance pretty regularly.

I can’t believe they couldn’t figure out the Zoom…that’s not exactly cutting edge tech anymore. My nephew can run a zoom meeting and he’s 10.

That said, I *am* sympathetic to technical difficulties of a live presentation. I just wish we’d have gotten an email with some information - any information - about what was presented and what’s happening next.

It’s been really poor communication after signing the NDA.

I feel for the people who opted for the zoom call. Zoom kept making Lance do all these updates and then it ultimately crashed. He is working on getting it all straightened out to do a zoom call for the folks that missed out.

Anyone that has ever run a live demo that failed knows that you make a video as a backup in case the live demo fails. You don’t want to screw the pooch twice. The same goes for Zoom. It fails all the time, and often with the audio. A backup plan would be to use Slack, or Google Meet, etc., … and they should have been prepared for this kind of thing. I specifically asked for a video link as I was unable to attend live or remote and haven’t received a reply. Maybe they aren’t as tech savvy as they say. Hopefully they will explain it all in the near future.

We were on the opposite side of the country when the private showing was scheduled. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait to see anything.

I've corrected my original post. Unfortunately, there has been very little communication provided to those of us who signed the NDA and set our Saturday afternoon aside to take part in this at a distance, only a brief apology for the technical problem and the mention of a possible rescheduling of a Zoom meeting at some future date. :(

I signed the NDA and never heard a word from Lance about this SNAFU with Zoom. I appreciate that it was mentioned here.

I’m guessing this thing is pretty good if so many of my fellow CTOC members are still riding the vaporware train here.
Here’s to wishing you all well and hoping you get what you want out of it.
What’s the big draw over some of the other options out there if you don’t mind my asking?
Total cost?
