Disclaimer - I'm not an electrician so please consult with one before installing or make sure you thoroughly understand the NEC/NFPA 70 and your local electrical codes.

That said, you can use 8 AWG wiring with a Wall Connector, but during commissioning you will need to de-rate the Wall Connector's output to 32-40A max, depending on your installation, cable type, length, and breaker size. Again, if you are unsure, please consult with a licensed electrician.

If the 125' 8 AWG cable you bought is "Romex" NM-B, it is rated for a 40A breaker, or pulling 32A max from your Wall Connector.
This!

Although, one simple correction - it's the WC that will do the "de-rating", he just needs to use an appropriate size breaker for 8awg and enter the breaker size during the commission process. He doesn't need to calculate or set max output, WC will do that.

I like the mini spreadsheet . 😃
I have a spreadsheet for everything. Even the number of times my wife rolls her eyes when I say "I have a spreadsheet for that."

Our 26 MYLR came with both CCS adapter and mobile charger. I assumed it was a consolation prize for buying during peak Tesla hate.

@-CYBRG- are you a previous CT owner or part of this eclectic group of $59k reservation holders? You're welcome either way and appreciate your input, but if you ordered one, I'd love to capture your order info in the tracker. You'll be #150! ;)

Nice.
Did you already have a 14-50 outlet, or installed just to charge your car? Also, do you use the evdance unit because it gives you 40A or any other reason?
I installed (Bryant- same internals as Hubbell, but more affordable) 14-50 for car charging. I like the Evdance for the faster charging. I leave it available at home all the time and generally leave the mobile charger in the car for occasional use elsewhere. I added a TT-30 adapter to my mobile kit as it is useful at many State parks and campgrounds. The Evdance has its own app for scheduling and charge rates and such, but I never use it since I am making my own power and can control that stuff through the Tesla app as well.

I am a current Tesla owner (25 M3P) and have a base CT on order. ordered Feb 23, in CO.

This is a great thread, probably the most comprehensive data collection on the base CT order/delivery. I have been reading this thread for months, only decided to join recently.

Awesome! You're officially #150! 🏆

If you feel comfortable sharing your RN# and any estimated delivery dates, I'll make note.

Yep, page 31 in the install guide:

https://energylibrary.tesla.com/doc...ctor/Gen3/Install/1PNA/g3_wc_install_1pna.pdf

Even if you don't install yourself, I recommend making yourself familiar with the install procedures, you know, to keep your electrician honest, and maybe even as testing material when picking an electrician.

What are the first 5 digits of your RN#? What state are you in? These will determine if your date will hold true.
