$100k FS demand is apparently dropping off and it will be accelerated by the non-FS announcement yesterday.
It looks like that's only for the white interior, or LTS reservations. I'm still waiting for my vin for grey interior dual motor configured 5/23 RS 11318

Correct.

Unfortunately FS owners are going to see significant depreciation in the next 6-12 months thanks to non-FS trucks starting production soon.

Honestly I do! That is why I want to get the FS-AWD. I think the FSD on the FS is a bargain.
But if you are trying to stay under the tax credit threshold, that is a way to do it and still get FSD..
But yes, I think the Foundation Series is a good deal especially if you see the future of FSD
FSD or any software doesn't count against the msrp limit

I may be confused and surely comes from lack of knowledge but I assume FSD can enabled or disabled remotely.

What is stopping Tesla from taking existing FS that haven’t sold and making them non- foundation series? Especially if the laser “foundation series” is a last step.

Got the early reservation email. So disappointed that the truck I reserved isn't being produced and can't afford a FS. Didn't see any option to delay in the email nor in the link. Should have bought a new truck instead of waiting on CT, it would be nearly paid off by now.

If they make 10k Cybertrucks a month by the end of the year then they should catch up pretty quick. Not sure how big the market is for a vehicle that costs 80k. I guess we will find out soon.

Every truck being built is already "sold". They don't have any unsold inventory to worry about this for now. I suspect the non-FS AWD trucks will be very similar physically to the FS AWD trucks so I wouldn't think there'd be much change as they switchover. I also expect FS and non-FS trucks to be built at the same time. Especially the FS Beast alongside the non-FS AWD given how much longer the lead times appear to be for those. They will want to keep the line fully utilized so it seems likely to me they'll open up the non-FS order book well before they finish building FS trucks for existing orders.

I'd love to see stats on how many half ton ICE trucks are being sold this year that are $80K+. There do seem to be a lot of them and you don't necessarily have to go to the top trim level to get there. Truck sales in general do seem down quite a bit this year, of course.

Another thing, too, is that most looking at an $80K truck will likely qualify for the $7500 tax credit, making it a $72,500 truck.

Perfect timing on this announcement ive got 3 emails sitting in my box waiting for action steps
SAME. I was lamenting that I would have to go for a model 3 performance if I needed a new ride before the Foundation series was done. Looks like that was premature :D

bet? The market for $80k cars, let alone $100k cars is very small. Tesla doesn't even sell 60,000 X/S in the US in a year.

It's been that way for over a week if you order white with ATT. Likely less to do with the announcement. The announcement was due to that.
