Hey all,

I have just completed my bunk bed in my CT, sleep for 2. I love camping and outdoor but my wife love camping and sleep indoor with AC on. So I come up with my solution. With rear seat fold up, this is what I created. The lower bed is 29”x57”, diagonally, close to 5’2”. Top bunk is also the same measurement but with some room to stretch. my wife is about 5’2”, she sleeps on the bottom with our small dog, and I am 5”8”, sleep comfortably on top. I use the 4” memory mattress topper and cut to size. Climate control temperature runs all night with no issues. Before top bunk could be properly setup, both front seats must move all the way forward position to clear bed platform. I set the driver seat to sleep profile, move the passenger seat all the way forward.

Top bunk advantage for taller sleeper, diagonally. As shown in the picture my feet rest perfectly on the far back of the rear seat and my head far as between the front passenger seat and door panel. This for me is best of both worlds. Outdoor activities and sleep comfortably inside.

Beautiful job, @SONNYDUT. It is cleanly constructed and appears well-designed, especially the support struts. It was very clever to use the front seat rails for the strongest and most secure mounting locations. Are you able to determine how much load from the upper bunk is transferred to the center console?

Whoever is on the bottom better not have to pee either lol
Actually, I am thinking in a potty emergency the bottom sleeper could access the emergency door release that is in the lower part of the back door.

If only you could save the passenger seat to positions...

How many nights have you slept in this with this setup? Any issues with your wife getting in and out to pee at night while you’re asleep on the top bunk?

Love this setup. Thinking of replicating something similar for my kids. Could you please share any measurements you might have?

Where did you buy this. Does it work well ?
It certainly worked but I put some inflatable pillows under the part closest to the seat back to help level it. I ended up getting an inflatable mattress that fit perfectly and was more comfortable and collapsed much smaller and stored under the seat.
