I have a generator so I do have jack. That is why I didn't think they would give me the option of power sharing. I have a non-Tesla solar array and inverter, and a non-Tesla generator and transfer switch, and everyone says that Tesla doesn't play nicely with non-Tesla setups. I accepted the virtual walkthrough and was very careful to show them all these other things and they still gave me a quote. In fact, the Gateway 3V is intended for backup only. It is still true that I cannot load shift without batteries but my [current] goal is to have power when the grid goes out. I always had that with my generator but it is loud and can only be run for a certain number of days as it is air-cooled. With the Cybertruck power sharing I have backup for my backup.Because you don't have jack if the truck isn't home and plugged in! Truck has less LRA for AC units. Can't load shift if truck isn't home.
