4) Oh, and a quote from our forum! So feel free to shame him here, he'll see it: "Or, as one of the Cybertruck Owner Club’s forum participants, quipped in response to Musk’s email: “If all of the CTs parts were either soda cans or legos this would be an easy command to obey.”

:ROFLMAO:
Hah, my 15 seconds of fame!

Both the author of the article and, sadly, fritter63 missed the point.

Soda cans typically have three components that comprise the total product; lego blocks have one. Automobiles have 10s of thousands of parts. My point was this: the task of meeting the dimensional tolerances for all three (or one) parts in a soda can (or lego block) is easy to do, compared to doing so for a complex vehicle.

Shame away, fritter63, if you think a rather obvious observation deserves it.

Finally, for those who would like to better understand the complexities of establishing required component tolerance requirements (for assemblies) without over-specifying those tolerances, as needed to meet the total assembly's dimensional and performance requirements, look up "tolerance stacking" and "six sigma".

This is the kind of ignorance and inability to think outside the box. Just like the stock analysts, everything is judged based on how the legacy companies have done it. Sure, flat F150 panels would be a mess, but CT isn't using panels with the same thickness as an F150. And when you use a panel as a stressed member, you don't get the same vibrations or flutter. And the more stress, the less the panel wants to move from an outside force. That email hasn't been acknowledged as an actual email from Elon. Until then, there is a possibility that he actually didn't write it.

Haters gonna hate
Just helping me buy Tesla stock at a bargain a little longer.

I guess you misunderstood my statement (apologies if I wasn't clear). The shaming statement was meant for the author of the article, since he clearly lurks the forum and sees what we write.

I did misunderstand your statement. No apologies necessary!

Certainly that author should be shamed for more than just taking my little comment out of context. And as you say, he must be lurking so here's my message to you, Jesus Diaz;
Shame on you for twisting my "quip", an obvious observation that anyone could make, into a negative statement for your own dubious purposes.

well if he does lurk here, he should be embarrassed about himself.

All: Elon already is planning the first deliveries. He has been working out all of the production problems over the past few years. Hence the delays. But is quite evident that he feels the CT is ready for production. Are we gonna believe Elon or this guy who has not even seen the proposed production model? This article is about to be proven wrong. Also the vehicles have already been subjected to the heat and cold and have not indicated any problems. One would expect a rugged vehicle such as this to be not as sleek as a sports car, so I am predicting no one will care very much once they drive it.

Typical input by an adversary. They find a minor but rare problem then state that the whole thing is junk as though it were the norm. Referred to as hysterical exaggeration.
Same with the delays. Just ignore the complications that the COVID issue induced to every walk of life then try to make it sound like Musk was just an ignorant dolt.

I used to frequent Reddit and specifically the subreddit r/electricvehicles. The majority of users have very similar takes as this article. It's been very strange watching supposedly huge fans of EVs trash talk this vehicle and even more so Tesla. I get the vehicle, visually, isn't loved by everyone. But it's an EV, so bashing it makes zero sense to me. I don't like the F150 lightning or handful of other EVs, but the more the merrier.
An interesting poll would ask the thrashers of the CT and Tesla writ large who otherwise are supporters of EV, their political affiliation and their favorable/unfavorable of Musk. My bet is the correlation of CT and Tesla hate to Left leanings is strong. Before you say it, this isn’t a political post. It is an analysis of trends in support for the CT, Tesla, and Musk.

Of course, it needs a "FULL REDESIGN" ...

They forgot to integrate Shields, a Cloaking Generator, Wilson Hover Conversion and SpaceX Option Packages ;)

Long ago I had my own run-in with the author of this hit piece, emailing him my insider's view on PC manufacturing. His response was basically that I had no idea what I was talking about and clearly had never set foot in a factory, let alone a computer factory.

I worked in the factory of the worlds' largest PC maker at the time, which he could have easily determined with a few followup questions, but he was not interested in cultivating sources, or hearing any dissenting viewpoints. He'd made up his mind, and that was that. It was very disappointing.

lots of folks here with same attitude toward other BEVs

though, some of the more ardent ones have recently seemed to shift focus toward forums that pay cash for impressions
Monetized forums exist?! Time to move. Lol jkjk
