Here's what is great... 99.9% of CT's likely won't be driven hard enough to put this part at risk (enter the folks who will tell us it's because the folks buying them are the people who wont drive them hard). Given that I've never seen any of the three raptors in my neighborhood do anything more difficult than drive the 15 miles to the local ski resort, maybe Tesla cut costs in a low risk area.
If you are the type of person who will drive hard enough to bend this part (like putting tracks on it), there will be upgrades available. Probably in whatever flavor of aircraft certified billet unobtainium you want. I personally, will want mine in leopard print anodize type VII, to be machined from aluminum smelted from the remains of a jurassic asteroid. These will nicely compliment all the rust spots from decomposing iron mirco-meteors on the HFS.

If it were made twice as strong, I wonder what part would fail instead? (This is closer to the way a engineer would look at it, as they already know the exact structural failure load for the part)

We remember when this thread first came up, and we were in the process of doing some downright sketchy things in our Cybertruck (See photo). We identified the OEM FUCA as an obvious weak point with the 7000 lb truck, and after quite a bit of research and development time....
We may have the solution.

We spent time designing and engineering a front upper control arm that could, most importantly, stand the abuse of the truck. We also wanted to make sure it was of the highest quality in terms of sealed spherical bearings on the inboard end, and good ball joints that could be swapped if they go bad - without replacing the whole arm like Tesla often does. Lastly, we included adjustable ride height provisions, and infinitely repeatable camber adjustment like you would find on our Model 3/Y arms, and Model S Plaid arms.

We hope you guys enjoy the results!
