I mean…. It’s rated 1100lbs on tongue weight.

If you put 10k on the trailer nose I think you’ll have other issues
A properly balanced and attached trailer puts very little downward weight on the ball. That is why tongue weights are so low while towing loads are so high. An 8K downward load is amazing.

Let’s see a remix where a ct pulls a ct thru pot holes and see any damage from that

SAE J684 calls out a minimum test load of 50% trailer GVWR for the trailer tongue. So 5,500 pounds for Cybertruck.
For the vehicle side, there are three tests with vertical (and longitudinal) components, two use 15% of trailer GVWR, the third is 47% GVWR + 480 lbs. For an 11k trailer that's 5,650 pounds.

European test spec (1994L0020 — EN — 01.01.2007 — 002.001) gives more background into the numbers. Basically, it's representing forces produced by the worst case inertia of the trailer (all mass at points furthest from the axle(s)) and an approximation of the vehicle vertical acceleration profile based on suspension type. Air suspension has a lower requirement than non.
Their test involves simultaneously application of sinusoidal waveforms with 1 to 3% frequency difference to generate force vectors in all directions. Vertical loading is static tongue (10% trailer max) plus/minus 60% of the V value.
For an 30 foot 11k trailer with 1,100 tongue and 4 foot of extra tongue (L=17ft, X=26, C=9,900 lbs, S=1,100 converted to metric:
L=5.16m, X=7.92, C=4491kg, S=499kg
V = 25.4kN (using worst case non air suspension)
Peak vertical loading is then 4.9 + 0.6*25.4 = 20.1 kN or 4,520 pounds force.

Welp, this isn’t how, towing, or trailers, or loads work; but, it’s not going to help things, is it?

The maligning of this vehicle shows no signs of stopping or slowing down.

If Tesla wants to put this to rest, they’re gonna have to do something more about it than tweeting, I think.
I watched 4 seconds of this dumb video. That HUGE machine is capable of lifting 10,000lbs+. Why would you wreck a vehicle? Try that on ANY other hitch.
EDIT. The Cybertruck broke at 10,400lbs and the ram made 10,700 and did not break.
10,000lb tongue weight? Impressive.

"Today, we're going to scientifically see if ..."
No. No we're not. Nothing about this is going to be scientific. Not even a minute in and you have already lied by omission about 2 things:

1) Whistling Diesel's chanel performed a destruction test, and did so in the most click-bait lying manner.
2) Someone else's rear casting cracked? Ok, who? And under what conditions?

This dude is a paid shill. Check his donor list. Tired of seeing garbage like this. Doesn't matter if the CT would have taken 10 million pounds before failure; the masses would still be flaming the comment section anyway. Sick of this fake world we live in ?

edit: ah, I seem to have found the sponsor of this "scientific test"

"Where the Cyber truck broke, the Dodge is not not breaking"

Homeboy, this is how you had to get the Dodge to the test bench:

Also found a relevant video of his that explains the amount of anti-Tesla FUD he puts out:

conclusion: JRE has political and monetary incentive to be deceptive and manipulative.

This pisses me off. Jerryrigeverything publicly hates elon and taking some of it out of the Cybertruck. I am not trying to defend it, but do the same test on rivian too, right?
I mean what does this prove? Yeah we get it you hate him yadda yadda pffft
Didn't Jerry say Elon wasn't paying child support or something stupid? He is such a small piece of plastic in the ocean to Elon.

10-15% of load, but … Nah, you understand more/better than most. Influencers gonna influence!

Influencer - influenza … ?

I don’t understand how this is negative. It’s right where it should be. Should be able to withstand its advertised tongue weight in dynamic load
It is a penis measuring test. It is a cool test i guess just to see how over-engineered something is…but is it practical? No.

Do we need to talk about "static" vs "dynamic" ? :)
....Nope!...cause the common guy will NOT understand that!...your making it complicated!. It is waaay more bitchen to destroy Cybertruck for clickbait!.

Static and Dynamic loads! - Ha...Lets make a Submarine from cast aluminum!....or better yet Carbon Fiber!...That will show them!

I get the inherent issue with Carbon Fiber, but what's the problem that is inherent to cast aluminum ?
