Falken Wildpeak AT4 Range Test Results

The OEM Goodyear tires are 33.5” the Falkens are 35”. I’m right there with you, I’ll take the small range loss (if any really), for the better looking tire.

If this is true and the outer diameter is larger, then mileage reported would be different. Unless you found a setting for tire size in the settings. You are probably getting more mileage with the Falkens if they are larger.

So I recently swapped out the stock Goodyear tires for the more aggressive Falken Wildpeak AT4’s. I was initially worried about the potential range loss since the Falken’s are bigger “beefier” tires. I wanted these tires as I plan to do a lot more off-roading and overlanding with my Cybertruck.

The towing with the longer distance is more statistically valid but all is rough.

Don’t understand sizing well. Want studded tires for winter. A lot of ice at times and I have to be able to get to work no matter what at times. Any recommendations on size tires/wheels. Could not find studded tires with factory specs.

See that’s exactly what I said when they said mine comes with 35” tires and looked up there specs and it says 33.5 but allot of people say the tires are really 34.5. One of the sponsers here offers 295 only with a 18” wheel but offers the 285 in a 20”
Wheel. A guy here has the Nitto 35x12.5/22. And they look great IMO

622 revolutions per mile is 32.43". Which doesn't agree with their 33.5" either...

As for 285/65r20. I don't have to do the math, here's a Google chart for total diameter. It also agrees with my math ?‍

How low can you air these down without it getting sketchy? With the OEM, they recommend no less than I believe 36. That’s not low at all. I’d like to be able to get down to 15 to 20.

What is the recommended LOWEST tire pressure for the beach? I also need 20lbs, as 35lbs is not low enough to tow a trailer on the Beach.

There is no number specifically for any certain surface, the 36 psi recommended minimum pressure is relative to preserving the structure of the tire from degradation. Repeated flexing of the tire's carcass at low pressures will cause fatigue failure of the fibers that give the tire it's strength and good handling properties when pushed hard on pavement. Too much flexing over prolonged use will destroy the tire and result in frequent tire failures (like splitting open of the sidewalls) as well as inadequate performance on the road.

Tires that are capable of withstanding very low pressures without fatigue failures are constructed more like an agricultural tractor tire and are unsuitable for high-speed highway driving.

You really need dedicated off-road/rock-crawling/sand tires if you require regular use at very low pressures and still demand that the tire be reliable over time. These are low speed tires that tend to have lower axle weight ratings.

Had those Wild peaks on my Raptor, they looked great but super heavy tires compared to the KO2’s so ended up swapping back to KO2’s. Before the truck would struggle to chirp the tires, now it will completely break loose at WOT. Freed up a ton of rotational mass for sure.

It is an All-Terrain tire. But you have to know what that means. It encompasses pavement too. It's kind of like the "All-Season" truck tire of the auto world. That doesn't mean it will be good at everything and anything.

It does mean it will be safe and predicitable on pavement and a wide variety of non-pavement surfaces. Not all surfaces. It's not very good on snow, puddling rain, or dead octopi either.

If you want one tire to do it all, probably the AT tire Tesla is selling as a winter tire.

But I'm guessing it will have short tread life!
