Yikes. Besides the poorly aligned rear door do I see oil canning
/waviness in the rear quarter panel near the tailgate?

Sorry for the confusion. There is no double there is a 2" hitch on the CT.
I was wondering what that bike rack mount it. Seemed really really odd connection.
Bike racks often have the thinnest connection they can get away with, so they're light.

Otherwise you get ones like my mom's where the rack itself fills alot of the weight limit.

I guess that may be true for single bike carries. Does not seem to be true for 2 to 4 bike carriers or ones for larger mountain bikes (or ebikes). I've had some different carriers and have researched them.

My current one below.

I can swallow the reduced aerodynamics,
but it won't fit in my garage!!!
mother teslas are more aerodynamic, so take a bigger range hit with a bike rack on - but like 20% at highway speeds

so let’s say the less aero CT is more like 15?

That takes an EPA-rates 330mi CT to 280 - or 50m

add in some ‘real world conditions’ and your 330 is actually getting 290, and with a rack you’re at 240… 90mi off EPA max

moral of the story: riding bicycles is bad for you

It's a 2" 1Up rack and have I one for 2 bikes. Nice rack if you don't have fenders.

Taillight blockage is solely a function of hitch receiver height and taillight height. They would have to build a different rack for each model of vehicle out there to accommodate the different configurations.
If you're worried about your lights being blocked, hang some trailer lights on the rack and plug into the 4-pin trailer light plug.
There's a Kuat rack out there that comes with lights factory installed.

A bike rack is BRUTAL for efficiency. At the speeds below I would normally get 350 Wh/Mile but with a single bike on that trip I was getting an average of 529 Wh/Mile. So 33% vs 20%. Or said another way 1.5 worse.

Via TeslaFI data below.
66% = 350/529
151% 529/350
529 Wh/Miles = (484+596+508)/3

Yeah, it gives fair access to the license, too, but not great. It's a tough balance to make, if the plate or lights are even partially obscured, you can get a fixit ticket or request to be inspected by the highway patrol.

Nevada is notorious for doing this to Burners.

This is going to vary wildly by the vehicle. But if you need to get bikes somewhere, you're going to have to pick efficiency or having your cargo space.

That's a 1Up Heavy Duty hitch. I have one on my RV and have used it for my 2 Ebikes for a couple of years now. Works great.
