I take mine everywhere. It's my only car.

My wife still has her 2020 MYLR, but I sold my 2020 MYLR because I hadn't driven it once in the two months since I took delivery of my FS AWD, haha!!

IMO, the CT transcends the truck/car/SUV divide. It fits in everywhere. Uptown, midtown, downtown, ranch, rural, coast, canyon, desert. The CT seems to take on the vibe of whatever surrounds it.
How much did you get for your Y? I'm in the same position ha

The only way to get used to trauma, is to repeated enough it doesn't bother (or I guess the rest of the family in this case). :)

Truck still gets a ton of positive attention and I'd say a true hater 1-2x a week.

$29,000. MYLR

61k miles, FSD, Acceleration Boost, Trailer Hitch, Tesla Extended Warranty still in effect, full tint, perfect condition.

I had the usual tire kickers and low ballers, but then got a ton of solid buyers lined up.

Take it everywhere.
Reminds me of a guy I ran into with new out of state plates on his MB EQS. I was curious how he made it with lack of local CCS.
He told me he wanted a Tesla, but his wife and kid wanted the MB. I'm sure he now regrets it.
Moral of the story, don't listen to the wife and kids, do what you want and they can go buy and drive their own ride

I struggle.

Its difficult to "contain" my love for this truck - Its just so much fun and I'm a first time pickup truck owner... so here's my dliemma:

I would take it EVERYWHERE - but my family is much less showy -minded than I am - so they sometime admonish me to say "its probably not appropriate to take it to xxx"..

Which brings me to my sincere question:

For those who already own one, and recognizing how "visible" this vehicle is (especially on the east coast where there are still so few of them) --

What are the appropriate places you can take it, and where would you NOT?

I have a wedding coming up soon (Indian wedding so epic fun multi-day event with lots of fun) - but not sure a cybertruck is appropriate.. I have other "fancy" vehicles I can take but I JUST WANT TO TAKE MY CT. Is it appropriate? (We're just invitees)

And where is the line you draw? Church / Temple ? Wake?
I guess Home Depot and Picnic are totally OK - but would love to hear your thoughts?

Wedding Yes ? No?
Absolutely I’ll take it. And if you are from the groom’s side, put music on with kids or adults dancing in the back in baraat:)

I would not take it to a wedding if it was going to be a distraction. It is their day. If the guests are chill and capable of ignoring you, then fine, but right now I'm not sure we are there yet.

The Cybertruck is my do everything vehicle and I absolutely love it.

Shortly after we got our Cybertruck we took it to my mom’s 80th birthday. Put her gift in the frunk and did the light show, she loved the attention and the truck.
On the flip side I did have family members that wanted to leave during the party and check out the truck. I felt that this took the focus from my mom on her special day.

In the end you need to be ok with that type of reaction from people. If not and it is importantly to you to not pull any attention away from the function that you are attending, maybe drive something else to that event.

Whatever you decide, be at peace with the decision and don’t look back.

God luck and enjoy the truck.

If it’s your only vehicle and you need to drive somewhere then everywhere is appropriate.

If you have a choice of a less flashy vehicle and you are attending an event where the attention should be on someone else (like a wedding) then i would personally avoid bringing it to avoid stealing attention from the person whose day it is out of respect.

As an example, I wear kilts a fair amount but they tend to attract attention. So unless it is a celtic wedding or i have specific permission (or requests) from the wedding party or if i am at an award ceremony for someone else, then i don’t wear it to avoid stealing attention from the person who is supposed to have the attention to avoid being tacky.

That’s my two cents, FWIW.

Cheers

Much respect Sir. Thanks

I toured a lot of Scotland a few years back - and I have to say I didn’t look forward to it (big family visit) but I found it to be the most amazing beautiful land with the most civil, decent and lovely folks I could imagine. What a great country.
Plus the history of distilleries didn’t hurt! (And I’m not a big drinker)

Cheers.

Nothing illegal about it. It had Florida plates and is allowed under treaty as a temporary tourist import. But a lot of those cars SHOULD have been illegal to bring into an area with so many people eating and shopping. The toxic exhaust of those limited production, high-dollar sports cars has no business cruising slowly in a densely populated area like Monaco. Save it for race day(s).
