Let's talk ramp inside tailgate...

The prototype had 2 panels come out of the tail gate so a 3 segmented ramp. Pretty steep even in the rear suspension in low position at the Peterson. But as seen in this pic it may be fully extended and looks like you could walk up it. The Quad they drove on had big tires so if your lawnmore has 6-8" wheels it might make it.

The Lightning's bed is too short for my Zero without the tailgate down. And a Gen II Zero is kinda on the small side.

Yeah, I live in Vermont, so it's pretty rural, too. Most vehicles are trucks. I guess I'm just getting fed up with prices going through the roof and what you get for your money goes down. It's just one more broken promise by Tesla. I guess I should be used to it, but it's not in my nature to give my word only to renege, and it bothers me more than I can say when others do it.

I can understand the frustration with Tesla making lofty promises and under delivering on some. But they do better than most. I’ve seen some amazing concepts from all makers. I actually think Tesla does a better job of making cars that actually look like the concepts.
In a way Tesla has disrupted the industry by doing so.

Bring IT Tailgates has a tailgate that has a panel that swings up 90 degrees from the top pivot, practically extends the gate by 2', and with built-in ramps, this could be our solution if Tesla doesn't include the built-in ramp. BTW YouTube has some scary videos of people falling off their machines trying to get onto the bed, just search for "bringit tailgate".
With the CT in Kneel mode, the step up could be only a foot or so, so can someone calculate what the step up is again by adding 2' to the height of the tailgate?

If by "step up" you mean the distance from the lip of the lowered tailgate to the ground, it's not a foot, it's probably more like two feet. We won't know for sure what that distance is until we know the spec's on the adjustable suspension when the truck is in the kneel/squat mode.

So there are rumors that there'll be no slide out ramps from the tailgate, and if true it'd be hard to get onto the bed. Ford F150 has the optional slide out step and vertical grab bar and others have various fold down contractions in the tailgate. I'd be so disappointed if there's no easy way to get onto the bed, and so will my big 100 pound German Shepherd.

I don’t think it’s coming. It adds weight and complexity. They’ll probably just create an accessory for those that want a ramp.
