I would go from tri to dual LR if the range is 400+....I wound be towing, but camping and need the range...the price of $60k plus 7k for FSD is within my means
This is more or less my sweet spot too. If the base Cybertruck had 400+ miles range, I would just stick with that. If it’s an option when my number gets tapped.

we will see.....with ford just going $8500 more, you never know what Elon will do.......but I think he may be hoping to keep increasing the price prior to announcement so the lower priced guys will just drop out and open reservations back up to the much higher pricing along with another increase in FSD......I hope not

The truck's original intent was to dominate the truck market, not to become a niche supercar type product like the S and the X are being pushed towards. Remember, that was not the original goal, but each iteration of those models gets faster and more expensive. The goal seems to be purely speed. "My SUV can destroy your Ferrari".

The goal from the beginning of the Cybertruck concept was to make it affordable. Hence the simple steel body construction with flat panels.

Having said that, if I wanted a supercar with Plaid level motors, I'd personally, and I'm guessing most people, when spending that money would probably buy a..... wait for it..... supercar.

The vast majority of truck buyers want utility and range.

Yes, 0-60 in 3 seconds and 1/4 mile at 11 seconds or whatever it is sounds awesome, but it's not why I'd buy a truck.

Now if batteries are the most expensive component of an EV, it makes sense to attach an extra motor or two to give it that super cool, worth it factor and eek out a bit more profit.

I ordered a Tri, not because of speed, but because of the range. If there was an option to save $10-15K and get 500 miles per charge and only have two motors, I'd bet most buyers would jump on it.

And I am absolutely sure of all this because I know a friend that has a cousin whose nephew's sister works in marketing at a subsidiary of Tesla.

Model 3 was launched at $35 - $40k.

Telsa doesn’t have “Stripped down versions”.
When a model 3 ranges from 47,000 to $78,000, what do you call the $47,000 version? We can play whatever semantics you want. I'm just saying that they're cheapest possible Iteration equals the average new car selling price... In other words, every other car they make is more expensive than the average car price... That's not a company targeting the average buyer.

The bottom line is I don't care if you agree with me. I still think that the quad motor cyber truck will be around $130,000 when it comes out next year

I call it the Model 3 SR.

We get it. You believe Tesla is going increase the price by 86% “just because”. And we should all STFU and agree.

:ROFLMAO: OMFG :ROFLMAO:

My brother does the vending machines for a Ford dealership, and the family that owns the dealership also owns a Nissan dealer right next door to the Tesla showroom in Rocklin; and he heard the same exact thing.

Let me Google that for you:

You're right, it's not $47k. It's actually higher.
So your argument is that Tesla is currently the right car company for the average person When they're cheapest car possible equals the average new car sales price? That means the rest of their cars are all more expensive than the average new car price. Mercedes offers a stripped down model below that average car sales price too, So I suppose Mercedes is the brand for the average person too, correct?

The price is going to be $79,990 for the Quad. Dual will be $59,990.

I am absolutely certain of this because my brother's wife's sister has a cousin that works at Tesla and Elon told his buddy those are the prices.

Most people on here must be rich or think everyone is rich. I think most would tap out past $80K.

My Model Y Performance is fun, and was a stretch at $63K. After playing with a friend's X and S, I realized they're well into the law of diminishing returns. I can afford an X or S, but I'd have to be the kind of person that can afford a super car for it to make sense financially.
Can we get your brother's wife's sister's cousin to create an account and get on the forum. That would be ggrrreeeeaaaaatttttt!

What in the actual fuck does any of this have to do with Cybertruck pricing?

You are off in the woods trying to argue the most bizarro things which have nothing to do with the topic here.

You keep asserting that somehow an 86% price increase is inevitable… with zero logic to back it. Then when anyone calls you on it you call them a stan. Yet you are the one with a nonsense POV with no logic behind it.

Your Supertruck pricing is way beyond any other EV truck pricing. It’s way beyond Tesla’s original estimates…. MASSIVELY beyond them. But you keep pounding this drum as if it’s the most logical thing in the world.

Nobody is buying it.

Maybe there is a new 8 motor addition coming out with a 300kwh battery. Why? Because 0-60 in 2.9 seconds isn't fast enough.

I'm just trying to respond to other people's criticism ,but I agree people are off down to rabbit hole that doesn't matter.

Tell you what, I'll bet you a beer that the quad motor cyber truck is more than a base model x when it debuts finally

You're right, it's not $47k. It's actually higher.
Also, a note about statistics... If you want to know what the average person is paying for a car, you don't look at the average new car sales price. You actually need to look at the median price. But the press never reports on median price because it is always less than the average or mean price which doesn't create as sensational of a story. Not to mention the fact that the average person doesn't always buy a new car. Again, we're getting way off topic but since you brought it up I thought I would throw that in there. The bottom line is the Tesla is not selling cars to the average person normally.

No, my argument is that when someone loudly and incorrectly proclaims “I do not believe this easily-verifiable fact”, I have a hard time taking them seriously.
