When someone said to me "F#@k the environment" I thought they were telling me to enter into a loving, intimate relationship, where I balance the needs and desires of both parties until death do us part.

So I bought an EV. 🥰

I am sure there are many reasons why people here want a Cybertruck, and I am sure there is a huge amount of overlap.

We are visiting Hawaii right now and I can imagine the Cybertruck sweeping Hawaii just due to its corrosion resistance, off roaring abilities and range.
Ha you Americans think you have it tough as you know we buy Literes here in Australia but if we convert it into gallons we pay $8.51 AUD converted to USD it is $5.70 but 8.5 bucks is what we pay, so our local AUD currency still hurts as if it was 8.5 USD in the same way it would hurt Americans. So imagine having to pay that

Im going to go out on a narrow ledge here.
I dont care about the CT being 'green'., save the planet, polar bears, baby harp seals and all that. Neven been in the forefront of my mind.

I want it because of this :
I just filled up my wife's Dodge Laramie Longhorn.

30 gallons @ 2.96 a gallon.
Big sucker gets a BEST of 17.8 or so to a gallon, averages about 15-16.

Thats 6 miles per dollar for the fuel ALONE. Oil changes cost about 100.00 for the good stuff.
A Tesla M3 LR gets about 360 miles a charge. A charge is about 24.00
Thats about 15miles per dollar!

Total C.O.O. will be about 15-17% that of a ICe vehicle by far!
I want a CT because it WILL go FAST ( a LOT faster than that laramie ) on the cheap with a LOT less maintenance expense.
I want a CT becuase I can make my electricy WAY easier than a combustible fuel.
I want a CT becuase it will last me till I get hired as a coffin stuffer.

So you can scold me if you want about the 'environmental benefit' not even being a concern.

Oh!!! Please go rent a Tesla and take it up Mauna Kea. I've been curious how much regen one would get on the way back down to the beach. I took a Ford Focus up (don't tell AVIS 😬), reset the mpg-O'meter at the top and averaged 999 mpg at the bottom. I'm guessing it would've been higher but the display only had three digits. 🤣

You'll know it's really bad when they start selling it by the pint.

sure bring your CT over and we can go tag along with my CT and go off-road around Australia, roll out the 30 meter long thin-filmed flexible solar array, and powerup on the way around, cross some crock-infested rivers whilst fishing from the back drinking real Aus beer while pissing on FUD lite :)

Sure, Americans complain about the cost of gas, but that's because we drive 15,000 miles/year. Most cities have abysmal public transportation, and suburban sprawl requires us to drive literally everywhere. The US has more cars than people. In the city of Los Angeles, one-third of the surface area is covered with streets and parking.

I live in the city of Austin, the state capital. The nearest bus stop is a 30-minute walk away.

I have been saying for years there are multiple (main) reasons to go electric, it's not just about fighting climate change....

($5/gallon in here in California right now. That would have been $175 on my Dodge Ram.....)
