I have had MyQ on my garages for a while. Got an email today that they are discounting the yearly subscription 15% . Code I got was Jul15. It is not the same as Homelink but works well for me.

Yeah, my Homelink was a one-time cost and it works with my existing garage doors. While I can't open them when away, they open and close automatically when I leave and get home. No annual subscription required.

Yes, Elon really needs to listen to those of us who are desperate to buy homelink capabilities for our Cybertruck. MyQ is terrible in comparison and not compatible with my needs. Sure wish Elon would wade in on the homelink issue. CT buyers remorse due to non-support for homelink.

Yep, well aware of how Homelink works. It is on my 2018 MS and pretty much every car I have had in the last decade or so. But since we are stuck with MyQ, I was trying to be helpful.

On past vehicles, it was a simple homelink button in the truck. You'd pair it to your existing garage door opener like you would a remote.

With Tesla, you can buy the Homelink adapter here: Homelink A Technician came to your house to install the Homelink adapter under the hood somewhere and then they'd do some software magic. Then, after you pull out of your garage and before you left the driveway, you'd hear a tone and there would be a "cancel if you don't want to close the door" pop up. Without any intervention, the car would then send the garage door signal and it would close.
Upon returning, when you got close to your house, the Homelink would send the signal and the door would open. You'd park and then hit the Homelink symbol on the screen to close the door.

Sure, you can do that with a visor mounted garage door opener and simple finger presses. But, with the integrated Homelink, you don't have to remember to lock up the remote when using Valet or worry about someone getting the remote and well, stealing from you.

If I were a betting man, I'd bet that with all the steel, it'd be hard to find an internal place for the transmitter in the Cybertruck where it wouldn't be blocked... or in sight. In our Model Y, it was kind of in the bumper area. Just plastic between the transmitter and garage door.

That is why the bluetooth modules are sitting in the plastic fenders on the Cybertruck... I am not sure how big the homelink adapter is, but perhaps that would fit there as well.
I have a $10 remote in the truck now, but it would be safer and far cooler to have it happen by itself ?

I was surprised that the truck did not have homelink. LIke many of you, I’m hoping Tesla provides a homelink solution one day soon. Till then back to the Velcro and opener on front of cup holder.

I am disappointed that the MyQ within the Cybertruck is unable to open/close my Liftmaster 400 powered gate. So I need an opener for the gate.
I am right there with you buddy. My gate is on myQ as well, but cannot operate it with the myQ in the cyber truck.

I have MYQ on the phone and call still technically open the garage with the app, just slower esp. if I forget prior to getting into the driveway. I refuse to get a 1-5 year subscription. Maybe if they had a lifetime option, I'd consider that.

This is one of those things that should just be included with any vehicle being sold past 2000.
