They promised FSD, and it's software. They'll be criminally liable if they break that promise.

-Crissa
Yes, Tesla legally has to honor the FSD price for those who locked it in at the time of their reservation, because their website said “Lock in Full Self-Driving price!” on the pre-order page. Otherwise it’s false advertising and then everyone gets a fun class-action lawsuit.

If you want it your way, go to Burger King
Burger King had it right, and Tesla knows it, it’s how they’ve been selling their cars from the beginning. If you ordered a Model S P100 D with white seats, that’s what you got. No sales person trying to convince you to buy a different model because that’s what they had on the lot and they wanted to sell it immediately. And you know exactly what it costs when you order it, no wiggle-room or dealer markups or surprise charges.

Order what you want, get what you want. We should expect to get what we order, especially in terms of pricing.

I'm really hoping that those of us who reserved at least get some discount. I'm not naive enough to think it will be the same price, but F me in the B if it's double what I reserved it at

Loved hearing from an IT "specialist" and the I write software guy that "There is no incremental cost to software" and you can copy software for free. Wonderful insights from professionals.

I chose least popular poll answer that unfortunately, also happens to be the correct answer in terms of what the pricing will be. I hate to break it to some of you, but your $99 investment in a CyberTruck reservation will not entitle you to a purchase price guarantee for the CT or the FSD. Elon Musk's chuckle when he described the $99 reservation commitment was a tell to "listeners" that at best, will entitle you to a prioritized (with possible caveats) ordering position.

Ok well as Woody Allen said to Christopher Walken in Annie Hall, "I've got to go Duane, I'm due back on the planet earth".

I’m just wondering if slim shady will
pop in on us Tri motor reservation holders. Tri is out and I ordered the tri, So, does that mean us tri motor res. holders lose our original FSD Price due to the fact the tri is no longer offered? Is Tesla known for this type of behavior (slim Shady)?

I'll make it simple for you.

If I manufacture a Pepsi, then for each one I need:
  • 12 oz of water
  • a crapton of sugar
  • aluminum for the can

If I manufacture software, then for each copy I need to:
  • let the purchaser download a copy

In the latter case, there is no incremental cost unless I'm also selling it on a floppy disc (but who the hell does that?)

Software development has a high fixed cost, but a tiny variable cost. Thus, software vendors have profit margins that would make most manufacturers blush.

What would be considered an early reservation holder?
Someone that ordered when the options were there for single, dual and trimotor with pricing. Like myself I picked the tri motor.
