It's amazing the extent that legacy auto will go to for refining a prototype that they don't intend to manufacture at scale. That vehicle has some awesome features, although I'd be wary with some of the system complexities over the long term.
I wouldn't mind a mid gate, but it's not a deal breaker for me. It also depends on exactly how big of a mid gate or pass thru the average owner really needs.
I think we need to see more of the Cybertruck internals and exactly how the tonneau cover travels, before we could even begin to explore feasibility of modifications for a mid gate or pass thru. But I'm thinking it would not be easy and fundamental sacrifices would likely have to be made.

Could have endless uses. See all your instrument panels, see a navigation path in front of you, see whatever data you want. Could be used to drive even, moving around a virtual steering wheel.

Pretty awesome, but as Elon says, concepts rarely come to market. Personally, midgate is a top feature for CT for me. I know it very likely won't happen, but I'm at least hoping for a retractable window so I can scramble into the vault from the inside. If it doesn't have this at least, that's going to be a downer for me and many people I think.
