I'm guessing Reuters won't pick this up for a story because it shows how well Tesla's integrated products function when needed, and seamlessly at that.

Always easier to write another clickbaity headline and article about how Tesla is bad to drive rage clicks.

High winds and a tornado knocked out our power this evening. The Beast and its newly activated PowerShare saved the day (night), while the neighborhood is out of power I’ve got more that a day with AC and power. Worked better Than I could have expected!

How long did you run it or are you still running it? Stay safe. 🤗

Can my "not gonna have two electric vehicles" wife talk to your wife? ha. Seriously how is the ride comfort? bumpy neighborhood roads, have you had it on a road trip?
This is the best ride I have ever felt.
The ride is amazingly smooth even at 114. Plus not worried about dips or bumps.

How? PowerShare software isn’t available yet, or at least that’s what Tesla has been telling me.

You'll only get that super fast no interruption time if you have actual coupled powerwalls I believe.
Correct, my installer was reading through the documentation and said that PowerShare will activate between 3-45 seconds. This depends on if the truck is awake.

Can you provide details on your backup? I’m working with my installer, and they don’t seem 100% confident in their understanding about what can and cannot be backed up.
My installer seemed pretty knowledgeable. He said the truck can output 11.5kW. I had them connect it to the panel with my AC, Heat, and some appliances and other lights, etc. once it’s hooked up, you can see your power usage live in the app. That 200AMP panel has never gone over 4.5kW. (Unless Truck is charging). So you should be able to leave everything powered on and just monitor your usage. The installer said if you use too much power, it would like kick off and you may need to restart/reset it. They gave me stickers to label the breakers I may want to turn off, but I don’t think I will do that yet.

Also, You can only backup a single panel (if you have 2, you will have to pick).

This is the first I have seen PowerShare working. Can you please give us your app version, truck firmware (2024.xx.xx), and gateway/charger software version (24.xx.xx)? (All found in app)

Thanks.

Sounds like what I would expect. Likely 240v 60a circuit with AWG #4 wires connecting the circuit breaker to Tesla Wall Connector. That's roughly 11.5 kW power. Gen 3 Wall Connector isn't able to handle more power than this

Powerwall on wheels FTW!

It rides great. Like a luxury SUV that can haul ass. Took a 1000 mile road trip to the Texas panhandle and not only did it ride great but is probably the best road trip car I’ve owned

Power has been out since Thursday around 6pm. Friday at 9pm the Tesla app said we had 14 hours left til the 20% limit I set so we went to a supercharger and charged again. As of this morning it shows we have more than 1 day of energy remaining.

Cool! Would be awesome if it had a low enough interruption time to not disrupt devices that are on (ie: computers, networking, etc…)
You can get a small APC UPS from Amazon for $60 to power your computer, router and Wi-Fi access points. It doesn't need a long runtime.
