Took delivery on July 16 of my cyberbeast FS and went through the whole process with Qmerit on getting the PowerShare Home Backup process started. Took a few days of back and fourth and got the install booked after being told this by Q merit “If you have not received a shop voucher from Tesla to purchase your equipment, your installer will more than likely be providing it for you. We are waiting on more confirmation from Tesla on this, but I believe this will be the case for most Cyberbeast customers.” The install day was this morning and the installers did not have the equipment and were curious why I did not have it. Q merit said the equipment has to be shipped to the installer before they can schedule the appointment for install. Waiting to hear back from Qmerit and Tesla on how to get either the voucher to buy the equipment or how the installers can get it through Qmerit

Well first off count yourself lucky, I took delivery of my Cyberbeast on May 4th and since that time heard squat about Powershare until yesterday when a flood of info came in.

I got an email from Qmerit telling me that I needed to fill out their assessment on my phone, taking pictures of my panel, AC units, etc. I did that and submitted.

Later in the day I got an email that an installer was being assigned.

Then I got a message that an installer was assigned

Then the installer contacted me and wanted to do the equivalent of a Facetime session with me to have me show him my garage, existing wall connector, panel, etc. so I did that with him.

This morning I got a message from Qmerit that the estimate had been submitted by the installer and they were reviewing it and once approved would be sent to me for approval.

I talked to the installer yesterday and he said that he was waiting on equipment from Tesla. I don't think any equipment is being shipped to me. I never received any voucher. I did take delivery before the May 20-something cut-off date for the end of the $4000 install credit and the communications from Qmerit clearly state that I am getting a $4000 credit. If the installer's quote comes back at say $3000 I have no clue what happens to the other $1000, I assume it evaporates or Qmerit takes it even though technically I think I should get it.

I had to do all of the photos and such as well. I was told that I’m still approved for the $4000 credit even taking delivery in July. My quote was $3,500 ish and I had a $356 addition that I have to pay out of pocket to upgrade my panel and that sadly isn’t covered even with the 4k. Just praying that I get the equipment soon because I’m having to drive 35 minutes to charge rn and don’t feel like paying out of pocket for a UWC and redundant install

We took delivery of our Foundation Cybertruck (not a CyberBeast) on May 8th. Should we be entitled to a $4000 voucher for Powershare? We live in Florida and lose power frequently so Powershare is something we are very interested in. We are going through the process and getting a quote for installation and an additional $1500 would be great!

No, the $4k installation credit was only for Beast orders placed before May 23rd.
The $2,500 voucher is for all Foundation orders.

So has anyone that received a CB had the equipment sent to the installer in the last couple months?

I never received any Powershare survey. No idea if they were supposed to come before or after delivery, but rather than wait, I took a lot of steps into my own hands.

June 21st: CT AWD delivery.
June 23rd: I opened a project request directly with Qmerit for the Powershare gateway.
June 28th: Received and approved quote for the gateway install.
June 28th: Opened a support request on Tesla's site asking where my voucher was because I had the install lined up.
July 2nd: Received my voucher and ordered the Powershare Gateway Bundle (end of July estimated ship). Also received an email from Qmerit letting me know I was not eligible for the $4k install credit, which I already knew.
July 29th: Opened another support request via website, asking why my bundle order only listed the gateway and not the universal wall connector.
July 31st: Received support response, they submitted a $0 order for Universal Wall Connector since my order somehow dropped it, 2 hours later I received shipment notification for the Powershare gateway (home delivery).
August 2nd: Received shipment notification for wall connector (August 6 estimated home delivery).

I still don't have an estimated delivery for the Powershare gateway, as tracking says UPS doesn't have the package yet. I suspect Tesla generated the shipping materials to meet their end of July estimate, but hasn't actually shipped it.

I'm still confused. I had assumed that the $2,500 credit was for the installer and that Tesla would send me the equipment (Powershare Gateway Bundle) for free. I just got an $8,500 quote from a Certified Installer - which is ridiculous. Does Tesla contribute anything towards the installation fee? Or, is the $2,500 credit solely for the bundle...

$2,500 is for the Gateway and UWC.
Early Beast orders (through May 22nd or so) came with up to $4k of installation credit.

2/13 - Configured Cyberbeast
6/25 - Purchased Cyberbeast
Radio Silence on Powershare install from TESLA. I chatted with delivery center who referred me to QMerit and asked me to complete their online form. Also they said they would have someone from powershare team reach out to me re $2500 equipment voucher.
7/11 - Completed evaluation with photos
7/19 -After no response from Qmerit emailed them. They responded in 3 hours and setup appointment for electrician to come to my home.
7/21 - Electrician visited home. Informed me whole house backup was not possible because of a component that Xcel energy my provider had not approved for their system. I will need to select 10 110V circuits to backup.
7/23 - Got quote $4630.50 and accepted it. $4K install credit. Out of pocket $630.50.
7/23 - Got email from TESLA powershare backup team rep that vouchers will go out in "few weeks". No date given. No reason given for delay.
8/5 - Got email from electrician that equipment will be sent to them directly, I will not have to purchase it, I will not get the $2500 voucher. Probable delivery mid August.
8/13 - Got email from powershare backup team rep confirming I will not get $2500 voucher, equipment to be sent to the electrician directly week of 8/19 (this week)
8/14 - Electrician emailed me they have not received any update on equipment delivery from TESLA but based on email from powershare backup team to me, can schedule install on 8/27-8/28
8/16 - Got email from QMerit confirming equiment to be shipped to electrician

8/19 - Waiting on equipment tracking number information and hoping it gets there this week for install next week.
8/21 - Electrician Installer confirmed equipment has shipped and install is a go for 8/27 and 8/28.

8/27 - Installer installed the gateway, the sub panel, the charger and associated wiring. I had power all day.
8/28 - Installer connected everything to main panel, moving quite a few circuits to the sub panel. I powered the fridge, freezer and internet using long extension cords connected to the truck bed power compartments. There was power loss for some time during the day but I was not impacted. Installer then commissioned and activated the charger and gateway. Strong WiFi connection is needed AND both charger and gateway ONLY connect on 2.4GHz band. I had to disable 5 GHz band so they could connect. After downloading software updates both are now live and showing up in my Tesla App. Charger is charging the truck.

NOW Awaiting TESLA to enable Powershare options in the App.

(...... To Be Continued)

:rolleyes::sneaky::D

Hey any chance you could share screenshots of your QMerit quote? Mine just came in at $7k.

I think you've struck on the determining factor of cost right there. There's nothing in NEC code that says a 200A panel can't be backed up via a transfer switch with a 60A (technically 48A) feed.

It's up to what your local power provider and locality will approve. My install is "cheap" because my provider will allow the gateway to be connected to the main. If you're forced into one of the load transfer installs, you end up paying an extra $100+ per circuit (10 circuits) to splice and relocate them over to the gateway. I say "cheap" because they're clearly charging a high labor rate for the work and the jobs are quoted from a menu, rather than actual circumstances. You shouldn't be paying $1,225 for up to a 30' install if you only need a 5-10' install. Wire alone is around $10/ft, plus conduit and communication wire. My quote includes a $280 charge to replace an existing EVSE and reuse wire, in my case a 70' run on #3 Al wire going through a 60A disconnect to convert to #4 Cu a few feet before the wall connector, saved hundreds over running 75' ft of 4/2 Cu Romex. I'm going to run the communications wire myself ahead of their install, but that wire alone is $2.50/ft.

These quotes would be a lot more reasonable if they were quoted specific to the job (materials and labor) instead of selecting a bunch of building blocks that don't fit the actual install requirements.

Correct. That's what the installer told me as well that the install will be expensive because of the light loads backup panel. I told them, how about you do this as a whole house install and when Xcel approves the component, it will be operational? I am in no rush for it to be operational now, since we don't really experience power outages that often where I live... and they checked with TESLA and said, NO CAN DO! Has to be an operational system after install complete, not operational some time in future.
