I received my CyberBeast 20 June. Qmerit reached out about 2 weeks later. After doing the online photos and questionnaire I was assigned an installer.
Today my assigned installer provides the attached quote..

TLDR: The final price (after the $4,000 voucher) was over 10,000…

The installer added an up-charge to the Universal Wall Connector ($580 on the Tesla site) to the tune of $1,225.50..

The installer added an up-charge to the PowerShare Home Backup Bundle ($2,500 on the Tesla site) a whopping $3,135.00.. this bundle INCLUDES the Universal Wall Connecter which they already invoiced so double charged and up-charged..

Permit cost $813 ugh..

Over $9,000 in labor..

It’s a simple same wall as my power panel install but the price suggests otherwise.

Qmerit had shown about 2 days for their review then they approved and forwarded the quote to me..

I am in the Dallas Texas area. Please review your quotes and have a savvy friend do it again over your shoulder. These installers.. wow.

My quote was over $8k for a very simple install. Ridiculous bid and a flawed process that stops consumers from seeking multiple qualified bidders.

I’m supposed to be getting quote for around $10,000 with a smart panel, it’s a SPAN and it does not include the equiptment from Tesla but that is free and I have ordered it already. Q-merit has not approved it yet and they have been sitting on it for 3 weeks. I’m thinking it’s too expensive of a quote and they are trying to lower the cost.

This is the only thing I got so far on what the 10k includes:
Scope of Work

1. **Remove Existing Subpanel:**
- Remove the existing subpanel and install it downstream to allow for future load additions, as the main panel is currently full.

Replace with gateway v3.0

2. **Remove Generator Breaker:**
- Completely remove the generator breaker as it is incompatible with the Tesla system.

3. **Move Solar Breakers to Gateway:**
- Relocate the solar breakers to the Tesla Gateway to enable solar energy to feed the backup system.

4. **Relocate Loads:**
- Transfer a few loads from the main panel to the gateway to ensure the gateway can back up essential home loads, including the air conditioner and any load that is not over a 50 amp breaker. To run off the wall connector

5. **Relocate Car Charger:**
- Move the existing car charger to the main panel.
- Relocate the external car charger to the main panel.

6. Install new wall connector
- Run a connection from the gateway to the desired wall location for the car charger.

---

**Next Steps:**

- I will be submitting the bid on Qmerit.
- Please consider which circuits you would like to back up so we can ensure the correct ones are included.

I have reached out to Qmerit so they can walk me through the “quote review” process.

I am considering cancelling the Qmerit process, taking my voucher, ordering the PowerShare Home Bundle and just going out of pocket with my own installer.

I added a screenshot of my Powershare install Qmerit response timeline.

That’s what I’m planing on doing, it should really cost $3,500. I have my electrician that can do it for much less than 10k. It’s nuts that’s your price with a so called 4k discount. They just jacked it up 4k and then took it off so it looks like a deal. Good luck keep us updated.

Why are the bids so expensive? They know we just bought a 100k+ truck so they think we can fork out another 10k like it’s no problem?

If I’m going to spend $10k I think I’d rather an actual Power Wall (and its install, or does Qmerit manage that too?).

Complete rip off IMO. I’m in Orange County, typically not inexpensive labor, and here was mine from Trout Electric. Find someone else.

I just got almost the same quote in Texas.
Tesla is supposed to provide the equipment to the installer correct?

I'm in North East Ohio with no existing infrastructure for an EV. Total install price was 3,500.

That price seems horrifically overpriced.

Total: $2,394.15. AWD, so no $4k credit. Less $1,000 EV charger tax credit, puts me under $1,400. I have 2x200A service, they're moving my fridge circuit from the 2nd panel to the one being backed up.

Notification Wednesday that Gateway shipped, UWC shipped today. Ordered 7/2.
