Inflation (Nov to Nov)
2020: 1.2%
2021: 6.9%
2022: 7.1%
2023: 4.2% (projected based on T12M)

If you just compound the inflation from Nov 2019 pricing, it would be $48133, $60197, and $84324. So not 50% but it is 21% and that's based on general inflation, not inflation of EV components which I'm sure is higher. Any pricing predictions coming in lower than this a someone’s dream. The pricing was remarkable in 2019 and people think Tesla can have a rabbit pull another rabbit out of a hat.

2019 Model 3 LR $45,700
2022 Model 3 LR $56,990
24.7% increase
How much does a LR Model 3 cost today?

Price of Model Y Long Range at the time of the 2022 Stockholder's meeting: $65,990
Curent price of Model Y Long Range: $50,490 (-23%)

Since the time of the stockholder's meeting, the Model Y has come down 23% in price so it follows that the Cybertruck may also come down 23% from when Elon said the price was changing as well?

I mean, it's possible that some trims of the Cybertruck will be less than the unveiling price. Probably not, but it's possible.

Personally, I'll bet the prices are the same as originally stated with maybe minor "Elonisms" like, the Quad will be $69,420.

Tesla Cybertruck Price for CyberTruck ESTIMATE released by Farzad Mesbahi July 3rd, 2023 1688651581201

I don't think that quite "follows"

does the current MY price not reflect current production volume and efficiency?

and, especially anytime soon in the CT ramp up, it seems unlikely that the MY is the best precedent example to the CT

again, not saying it's one way or the other - only that I don't see how anyone can assert it's one way or the other

I believe the pricing will be close to the 2019 prices. Tesla has reduced many of the costs since 2019. Though the CT is unique, Tesla is not building it to be the most expensive truck on the market. It will be near the original budgets just to spite the ICE truck market and drive them into the EV world completely.
The Tri-motor or quad will be under $80K to qualify for the IRA.
Wild speculation on this pricing is crazy.
September is soon upon us.
Pricing reality is soon upon us.
It will be good to be able to read the pans and praises of the CT rather than prices, sizes and mirrors speculation.

Let’s all be realistic. The Cybertruck is going to have the best technology available on a pickup truck with a premium price tag to match. Adjustable air suspension, amazing towing capability, powered tonneau cover, RWS, possibly steer-by-wire steering, ultra hard stainless steel exterior, powered door poppers, etc.

You simply have to look at the competition to get a rough estimate for revised pricing. Let’s look at some MSRP’s for BEV pickup competitors. All of these prices are for base vehicles with zero options:

-Rivian R1T Dual Motor with base 260 mile battery pack: $73,000
-Ford Lightning Lariat trim with base 240 mile battery pack: $76,974
-Chevrolet Silverado EV WT with base 350 battery pack: $74,800

I feel that anyone who thinks the Dual Motor Cybertruck will come in under $70,000 is delirious. Every CT reservation holder should be prepared to be disappointed. Every serious reservation holder needs to have a Plan B in place for when Tesla announces trim levels, specifications and revised MSRP‘s.

Wait... Wasn't the Rivian announced BEFORE the Cybertruck? Why would Tesla announce a price for the Cybertruck AFTER they knew the Rivian pricing and then later raise the price because of the Rivian? Wouldn't they maintain the same level of sameness?

Good point. It seems the prevailing thought is "Cybertruck will be expensive until they reach economy of scale." What some are forgetting is that Tesla makes most of their own parts so much of this economy of scale is commodity items that Tesla already buys at scale for their other vehicles. It isn't like the CT uses anything exotic compared to the rest of the lineup aside from the stainless steel.

He walks thru his "estimate" for the Cybertruck pricing. He is using his best guess-o-meter.

Cybertruck price for a 354 mile range model = $79,990

He makes other estimates on price if Tesla were to sell it at no profit. (Which I can't see Tesla doing. They don't need to do that).

No offense to Farzad, but he's just picking numbers out of a hat and trying to make it look like he knows what he's talking about. More views is the name of the game here. He lost a little credibility with that, from me.

The best guide to what the Cybertruck will cost is still the horses mouth. Just take the reveal pricing and add a little bit for any extra features and unanticipated inflation, then remove a little bit if they have removed any features and you have your price.

I do think the IRA tax credits will cause them to configure at least one release version that ensures those who are eligible can take advantage of them right from the get-go.

Cybertruck doesn't really compete with the Ford Lightning or the Chevy Silverado EV, it competes with gasoline trucks and SUV's, an absolutely huge market.
