Have you ever had your steering go out on any vehicle? Barring accidents and alignment.
Yes two times for sure one I didn't verify, the one I didn't verify was on a newer car and the steering reportedly jammed causing an accident. The other two were old rock crawlers at low speed and had steering shaft separations.

Even with that I am not worried about the increased failure probability of having rear steer.

Lol, we are going to be the 21st century Aztek clowns that buy the cybertruck and children born today is going to laugh at CT design and think what was they smoking in the 2023.
atleast hearing the brand manager speak about Aztek sounds similar to CT moto " BETTER UTILITY THAN A TRUCK WITH MORE PERFORMANCE THAN A SPORTS CAR "

I completely agree. The MECHANICAL failure rate for rear steering components will be the same as front. The only real additonal potential failure issue becomes the drive by wire imput that comes from the computer.
I am really sure that the system will 'fail to safe' by centering then locking the rear wheels pointing straight should a problem arise.
SO, long story short : Haint Skeered

....
When Tesla FSD is controlling the car it is doing with a 100% steer-by-wire system of the front wheels.

All modern 100% autonomous vehicle designs use 100% steer-by-wire system. Vehicles like GM Origin, Zoox, etc.

There are steer-by-wire systems that have government approvals.

Toyota bZ4X & Lexus RZ450e EVs have steer-by-wire system.
The system allows the front wheels to cover their full range of motion with just 150 degrees (less than half of a full turn) of steering-wheel lock.

Many heavy-duty trucks and off-road tractors use steer-by-wire.

Canoo's steer by wire technology
BlueSky
Dec 17, 2022

South Korean auto parts company Mando Corp. struck a deal to provide its proprietary steer-by-wire system to U.S. electric vehicle startup Canoo, becoming the world’s first company to commercialize the advanced steering technology that would underpin future vehicles. Under the deal, the Korean company will provide its steer-by-wire system over the next five to six years from 2021 to go on 500,000 units of Canoo-made electric cars and autonomous vehicles, according to auto industry sources on Sunday. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but it is estimated to be worth hundreds of millions of dollars.

behind the wheel is Canoo's Global Vice President-Customer Journey, Gary Gumushian, while beside him is Andre Smirnov. One of the first things he asks Gary is whether the steer-by-wire system has been certified as road-legal, and the answer is "all done," which is big news.

That Canoo is a WEIRD looking booger! Yes you are correct, but then that goes to reinforce my lack of concern about rear wheel steering component issues .

0, I wouldn't buy one because of garbage reliability.
I asked for a copy when it happened as a trophy. This was just the engine there were about 3,000 in repairs on the first ticket where they thought they fixed it. Engine overheated and warped when the coolant shot through it. I vividly remember seeing the smoke shooting out the back in the review when it happened and the instrument cluster said oh shit.

Does anyone have any reasonable explanation for so much bulk in the back bottom in the rear bumper area?
access to hitch, trailer wire harness pins, and frame recovery points

In a traditional truck these are just ‘naked,’ tucked under the bumper - but for the CT the aerodynamics (if not aesthetics) have it wrapped in removable, aero, trim

I just think it is likely we will have lots of diving modes... spongy, stiff, etc

High / low ride, cheetah driving... it will be amazing. I am not a teckie, but I reckon if Musk can make rockets, he can make a suspension that lasts.

We have witnessed spongy mode. ?

I had a 2015 Range Rover sport that blew a head gasket at about 45000 miles. $29,500 warranty repair.
Wow, would have been cheaper to replace the whole battery pack
