First, are you a DIY guy?? It seems easy to install a normal rear setup.
There is video by guy selling a 600 mirror. He found 12v to in top box where camera is. Research it

I am a DIYer. So installing what I choose should not be a problem. I have viewed a number of videos re power supply. Tks for the reply.

Hansshow has some interesting products, but IMO, their digital rear view mirror kit is too expensive. If they sold a version without the recording function and front view camera, it would be a more reasonable price. The rear camera options that have been mounted on the top bar, to me, look too tacked-on. I am hoping to see one with a more streamlined housing that makes the camera look like it belongs there. This shouldn't be something that the owner has to 3D print. Just my opinion.

Alternatively, if Tesla could increase the size of the rear-view display on the screen, maybe that would be good enough.

I agree that the option to mount ontop of the bar would be desirable. I continue to monitor the advancements and hope that they offer a cleaner top mount option. I also can live without the front camera if that were an option.

I'm going to wait. It's still early IMO, we might get lucky and Tesla comes out with a solution cause right now that rear view mirror is useless. If I had to mount a camera, I would mount it on top of the tailgate. If you mess up or want to switch it back, you can just replaced that one panel. There is also a 3D print file where you can print a nice looking shroud for it.

Good information. I may wait, too, because I am no DIY guy, and I need someone to install anything like the mirror and camera for me.

I have a friend with a Corvette C8. If we can get something like that and remove the video window off the screen, that would be perfect. It's hard to get use to, and I'm getting there, but I rather have that.

This is just an example.

I have the Wolfbox 900 on my EKKO RV, and while it provides front and rear viewing/recording, it’s just not the same picture quality as the CT small strip or any OEM rear view cameras. What we need is what Mercedes (RV) offers, which is full camera view on screen when going forward.

Thanks for the response. I hope someone offers what you describe.

I’m willing to wait for the right product. I hope Tesla will offer something in the future.

the systems to look for are:

Magna Clearview Vision:

https://www.magna.com/products/exterior-interior/mirrors/clearview

Gentex Full Display Mirror:

https://www.fulldisplaymirror.com/fdm-cms/

They both sell to 3rd party or OEMs. They both have stitched 3-channel views (e.g., L-CF-R or L-CB- R). I think that Hansshow is using one of the Gentex 2-channel mirrors so maybe, if enough people showed an interest in one of their newer systems, … That is what I am waiting for.
