There is the mentality of I will teach Tesla by not accepting my car/truck. This theory only works if others aren't willing to stand and take the place you were standing in.

So it really wouldn't teach Tesla anything. Except you don't want the car/truck and forfeited deposit or asked for $100 back. At this point they wouldn't care much. I doubt one would even call you or send you a survey. One could reject, and wait for another. How long that might be is anyone's question. If Tesla makes efforts to make good, I think take the truck and be happy. If no that's the way"in spec bs" I would have to be a bit stinky.

Tesla is still not mature auto. They are making new products just like Apple made the I pod nano or something along those lines. Still growing. Still having growing pains. One can accept it or not. Again I don't think Tesla is crying over it.
No one said it would teach them anything. I just wouldn’t want a vehicle I’m not happy with its fit and finish. I do a lot of new construction and the things I see contractors get pulled on is crazy. There’s customers who will get a 10k lumen flash light and a magnifying glass and point out imperfections on a level 4 wall. Vehicles get of pretty lightly even though they are pretty much the same thing repeated again and again and again. Perfection should be easy when working with equipment that can machine 2 surfaces so accurately that when they drop into each other they are air tight and the joint disappears. Go ahead accept the 2nd rate build quality. If you are happy that’s all that matters.

LOL, they are not using a wire EDM to make these parts, nor are they assembling the entire vehicle and then precision grinding it.

of which maybe 1,000 are actually for sale

cars.com sweeps dealer websites.

but Ford dealer websites list “for sale” inventory that includes customer-ordered builds that are in process between configuration and delivery.

probably 7,000 of the Lightning’s on cars.com are spoken-for
Orly? You can't possibly believe that can you?

The lack of autopilot/FSD at the present time makes sense to me. Remember that this is the first Tesla with 4WS and steer-by-wire. The auto-driving software will need to be revised to take advantage of these capabilities. I'm sure the issue is being worked and we will see this functionality in future OTA updates.
correct. all current autosteer profiles are calibrated to steering systems with mechanical linkages, and that alone means its going to be different and need special attention to calibrate and pass certifications.

I mean, yeah I do believe that in cartoon simplistic terms

knock yourself out running those numbers, but a few other dynamics for you to double-click on:

(1) you seem to focus on units that have been on the site a long time - setting aside cars.com is notorious for having phantom stock that doesn’t update, also every Ford dealer has a demo unit on the lot (well, while some don’t, others have 2 making the point the average) - there are 3,000 Ford dealers in the U.S.

You’ll have to figure out how to sort for which “old” units on cars.com are either phantom stock or dealer demo units

(2) you seem to focus on units listed a long time with price changes - ignoring that all but one that you listed have have had price increases since listed

if you want price change info to tell you anything, you’ll have have to get real agile with the Ford MSRP changes + sub-incentives over time, and THEN back out for all Dealer demo units

To convince to me to change my mind, you have a lot of work cut out for you!

Drove it on a highway around 85mph today, the motor noise/whine is actually getting better (not sure if it's because it was a brand new motor, or it's me getting used to it). No vibrations at all.

One thing that surprised me is there is no auto-steer. I thought only FSD is not available, but apparently so is auto-steer and auto-lane change.
Congrats on your deliver! I'm in the Bay Area too, waiting on my order for the Cyberbeast, if you're interested we can meet up and compare our Cybertrucks when I get mine!

In regards to your comment above: Yeah, no autosteer, no basic autopilot, no enhanced autopilot, no FSD right now, it's one of the few negative things I have about the Cybertruck right now.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the cybertruck, but there are just a few things that I'm trying to get used to, and the lack of auto-pilot is one of them:

PS: @REM , I tried to tone down my style a little in this video, but it's still probably annoying to your standards, so fair warning, hehehe. ?

Let me know, I'll bring a 911 on a trailer.

Clearly not as the picture clearly shows there’s a 1/8” to 3/16” gap where there should be no gap. The distance some of you guys go to defend this blows me away. That’s not acceptable on a $100k vehicle no matter what the brand. The more of you who are willing to accept this as “Normal” means it carry’s on. I have looked over the f150’s and they are pretty spot on. I’m a f150 guy yet purchased a beast. The the CT needs to be put together at least as good as a f150. It’s costing 30k more so I’m not sure why that truck left the factory like that when they should be leaning perfect with how many they have to inspect a day before sending them out. It’s not a prototype so its bodywork shouldn’t look like a prototype. If they are leaving the factory like this in low numbers what will happen when they ramp up. That truck should have been pulled at the factory and fixed there. PDI should have also caught it and gave the buyer options. I get it you guys want the vehicles but what are you willing to accept as normal just because you want it. I would have walked away if that was my truck. What next the bed cover and windows leak water. Well it’s just a little water so it’s fine. The lights are not turning on but it’s ok I won’t drive in the dark!
You should cancel your CT and get the Lightening. You’ll be happier.

That'll be insane! I'm in San Leandro, FYI.

We only Need 1 Cybertruck for this test... (to replicate what Tesla did)

I also own a 1998 Acura NSX (420HP Supercharged), but it's SLOW compared to today's standards.

What's the spec of your 911? We will put the slower of our two cars on the trailer. And then user the other one to race the Cybertruck!

If you're serious, let me talk to some speedways, and try to organize an area where we can safely do a 0-60 test!

Haha it's not mine (I'm too fat to fit in), my buddy is getting one delivered by the end of this month. It's either a S or GTS, I'll ask him and I think he'll be stoked to race a CT to clear the 911's name.

Awesome! once you get his confirmation, let me know, I'll start talking to folks at our local speedway.

Heck... maybe we can make this the first Cybertruck meet... but that's not my call since I still don't have my VIN for my Cyberbeast yet...
