I hope Lucid, Rivian, Nikola, and even Atlis make it long enough to get traction. The Rivian R1T seems to be really well liked by new owners. Lucid apparently does get close to 500 miles of range and rides like "Air". The whole industry can learn from these new makes/models.

Of course there will be cancellations, but over the years, we are sure to get new orders. By the time we catch up, we may have harvested 100 Billion+ in profit.

My point is, production will accelerate to meet demand, it will not plod along.

I finally watched the video, and enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend setting aside an evening with your headphones, to watch, and listen to a conversation of a bunch of like-minded nerds shooting the shit about anything and everything.
It's amazing that Elon Musk takes time out of his busy schedule to sit down and shoot the shit for a couple of hours. AND, allow the conversation to be recorded and broadcast to the internet. I guess it's like us spending time here on a forum to write our thoughts. ONLY on a much larger scale.
After watching this video it becomes obvious that everything said during that discussion, should be taken with a grain of salt. It was fun to watch, but really, it's nothing official. I compare it to sitting down with Joe Rogan, sipping on some fine whiskey and lighting up a spliff. To hang out and hear the ramblings of Elon Musk.
Highly entertaining, but just ramblings!!!!

I am a fairly literal person.

If someone says something which gives me the impression they don’t understand something, don’t expect me to read between the lines.

Maybe he does know, maybe he doesn’t. Either way, why they are burning cash is something Tesla has experience solving.

I would be truly surprised if the quad motor has anything less than a 200kwh battery.

I’m not as sure. (Either way)

The quad motor config could be more focused on performance rather than range in which case shaving 500 pounds or more of battery might make more sense.

There will likely be a long range version with a 200 kWh pack, but it might not be the quad.

This is one modern alternative to marketing, using Twitter/YouTube to get the word out. It also helps placate the ego a bit . I do enjoy listening to Elon, especially when he gets really excited about something: it usually translates into a disruption of some kind.

For me, I'm going for the model with the longest range. I don't care about getting to 60 mph under 2 seconds, honestly. I'm hoping for at least 500 miles (to be able to have decent range when towing).

While slightly ruthless, purging your bottom 10% performers is not horrible for a business that needs to perform and remain lean.

It is literally, truly horrible. Regularly purging the employment ranks will cause workers to overwhelmingly choose short-term benefits regardless of long-term consequences.
