It’s gonna be a good day when this forum’s name is accurate - with owners…?

This is on Kato road/Warren next to the factory. I drive by there everyday on the way to work... I am going to keep my iphone handy from now on.
Being newborns, they tend to not stray far from the nest.

I think they meant "The video...by a member" not literally "testing by a member"

I expect to be pulled over at least once, just so the cop can check out my shiny new truck.
When I bought my Performance Model 3 in 2018, a cop pulled me over for speeding but got really interested in why I still had the temporary paper license plate in the window considering the car was titled 27 days previously. I told him I had a full month. He wanted to know why I didn't have metal plates after more than three weeks. I told him, I dunno, it's Tesla. Sure enough, with one day to spare I got the metal plates in the mail.

The oil canning is going to be an interesting change in the auto scene. I am willing to bet that’s why most vehicle body panels began to be curved in the first place. I do wonder what the CT would look like if the panels had a very slight curve to them
All the CT panels are slightly curved as can be seen in the overhead shot on the crash test footage. The doors are as wide as the front and rear wheel flares.

Yeah, it should be "Wanna be Cybertruck Owners Club".
Well, if you want to be even more accurate and include all participants, "Wannabe Cybertruck Owners, Cybertruck Detractors and Elon Musk Haters Club".

You can clearly see the waviness in the SS rear quarter panel when viewing the short video.

I have a very strong suspicion that Tesla specced a thinner gauge stainless steel to save on cost, weight and to increase vehicle range. Since the outer SS panels no longer form a true exoskeleton the 3mm thickness wasn’t necessary.

My guess is that 2mm thick panels, roughly the thickness of a nickel, were specced for the doors, quarters and tailgate. Tesla most likely specced an even thinner gauge for the fenders and frunk lid to maintain a frontal crumple zone and achieve a five star crash test rating.

Thanks for video OP. While it's nice to see I am observing the background hills. They are green ... so different from the baked brown hills we usually see! The rains we read and hear about have made a difference.
That's actually pretty typical this time of year. It greens up after the first rain (doesn't take much), and then start turning "gold" in April or May.

That big difference is the height it reaches. We're currently looking about 3 to 4 feet that I"m gonna have to weed wack down... :(

Ex: The junction boxes on my solar poles below are mounted close to the 5 foot level above the concrete footing.....

You strongly suspect from a video of a prototype?

Like, the first prototype didn't even have the hardened steel except on the door panels.

There's oil canning in the Starship prototypes, too. It's a hand-built prototype. Not even a production-intent model.

Always "on the list". Problem is would need extensive fencing (1500 linear feet) and goats are notorious escape artists. Should probably just barb wire it and let the neighbors cows in there. At one point they were willing to do the fencing for that, but I think the daughter and her boyfriend (who owned the cows) must have broke up. Cows are gone now!

Was thinking lamas too. Just need to find something that's low maintenance for me, I'm not a farm animal person! Maybe it's time to think about a patio home.....

TIL -- Defn: "Oil canning is defined as the perceived waviness of a metal panel and is an inherent characteristic of light-gauge, cold-rolled flat metal products. In other words, it's a visual phenomenon that makes metal panels look wavy or somewhat distorted, especially in the broad, flat areas of a metal roof or wall system. Feb 23, 2022
