….We have now seen Cybertrucks in the wild with 4 or 5 distinctive wraps already, this is starting to feel more like an option.
Maybe they swap out the wraps frequently to make it look like more trucks, like Shelby did with his Cobras! And yes I’m joking.

You can thank everyone that wanted CT to fit in their garage.
As long as it's powered and larger than the Y frunk I'll be okay. If the bed is able to keep dust out then I probably wouldn't use it very often anyway. At this point I just want it. 5 or 6 seater, folding or fixed midgate, small or large frunk, ramp or no ramp, crab walk or crip walk just give me my truck already.

Looking at the size of those hinges , I doubt they have a powered frunk. On the bright side, it won't be as fragile as the MY

Its amazing how much storage space some people need. if the frunk is too small for you, and the bed, and the cabin, maybe get a van? maybe an E-transit

I've used my frunk on the 3...... 2 times?
My Model Y..... ZERO times since buying that in January.

Cybertruck may be different. It powered, I'll use for my backpack when I drive home. But most certainly don't think I'll need a F150 sized Frunk. The ONLY reason Ford even has that is because they had to do something with the engine bay.

Exactly, F150 had no choice lol.

I use my model Y frunk literally all the time, but the most that goes in there is a backpack and maybe some groceries. Feels highly unlikely that the CT frunk would be worse.

Arent most people coming from ICE? Like how are you missing something you never had? lol

If you are using it like a car or an SUV then I'd agree but used as a work truck space is a necessity.

Many pickup users have a locking toolbox in the bed which can be accesed from the sides of the truck, it takes space from the bed but you have no choice in an ICE truck. It looks like you can still put a locking box in the bed of the CT but the only way to access it would be to actually go in the bed each time . The F150 Frunk can be used as an alternate to a lockbox , you can secure all your tools in there as well as having the power sockets and keep all of your bed space. I belive many people were hoping that the CT frunk would be large enough to do the same (which it still may be) . We'll need to wait for the reveal..

y'all sounding wild

"how are we missing something we never had" in the form of lockable exterior storage?

and yes, it's great that the CT will have a closeable "vault," but i use my truck for gravel, soil, etc. - that's not where, e.g., groceries, suitcases, etc., are best.

when i got active again on this forum, everyone wanted to talk about how incredible the "mega-super frunk" on the CT would be, since it would be twice as deep as the Lightnings

All this back-peddling is ... awkward

I think the CT frunk will be great.

But let's not overdue it with "the Lightning frunk isn't useful anyways"

besides, if the CT frunk is ~8 cubic feet, y'all have 92 more cubic feet of external, lockable, storage for Tesla to make good on (the closed bed is *maybe* 65-70)

No one is denying that having a giant frunk would be dope.
But is it being smaller as big a deal as everyone is making it sound? no
It is likely still the biggest frunk of any tesla.
It doesnt have to be the biggest of any vehicle.

right?

I created this thread because everyone was acting like they dont use their frunk. And while there is a good chunk of people who do plan to use it a lot. there are also a lot of people who are like meh on it.

I'm not back pedaling per sey, but accepting the circumstance and not worried about it.

When I called it a "mega frunk"(I was the first to do so in the Tweet where I actually showed it off open), I referred to HOW it opens versus the capacity. I teased at you yesterday that "wasn't I right?!" about how this frunk sits. I've said the frunk will work like a Lucid trunk since April, when I first saw it open.

Would more storage be cool? Sure. But it's largely unnecessary up front there. I'll still take my ~6.5' bed with a 16" deep frunk over a 5.5' bed with a massive 3' deep frunk that I won't use for much more than a backpack. That's all I really ever planned on putting in it.

I already have frunks, so I am maybe the exception here... But I don't use it much and don't see that changing too much on Cybertruck.

Would agree! If it powered, I could see myself being like "sure why not". But I still gotta pull out my phone to actuate that. Not complaining.. just thinking.
