Critiquing anyone for having "superficial perceptions" on this Forum is absurdly funny. Speculation and superficial perceptions are the currency of The Cybertruck Owners Forum. :)
you aren't suggesting that things like the following are speculation and superficial perception are you: "versions announced will [include] nearly 300 miles of range between the lowest and highest spec versions "

It might be your currency, many of us prefer to focus on more fundamental analyses, ones based upon the known facts, not ones based on fluff.

Here's a good prank:

When you see a shiny new heavy duty truck park on a city street, and the owner looks like a trucker-wanna-be, out to be seen, just stroll up to them in a friendly and laid-back country manner and catch their eye. Put on your best country drawl, don't overdo it, pretend like you have a blade of straw between your lips and compliment them on their truck. Since its new, you will generally see the pride well up inside them.

After they say "thank-you" and add something about how they agree, pop the question. You know the one I'm talking about, the obvious question on everyone's mind when they see such a fine, heavy-duty truck, "So, whatcha' been hauling lately?"

The dumbfounded look on their faces is priceless.
Perhaps the dumbfounded look is the fact that some cretin approached them under guise of being friendly and then had the nerve to appear to question whether they are deserving of their personal choice in a vehicle. Me, Iā€™m buying the CT for range, internal size, and camp mode. I donā€™t really give a crap if thatā€™s a proper reason in anybody elseā€™s mind.

Cory sure got the offroad capabilities wrong
I would not go as far as to refer to Sandy or Cory's opinions wrong being there expertise is well and far above my own but my view does differ. I feel as though the CT is more of a blend of the Rivian and F15-Lightning. Appealing in the middle of wanting an adventure style truck such as the Rivian but with the workload capabilities of the Lightning. Sort of the best of both.

"If" the 500mile version is a result of the future capacity increases of the cybercell, technically the extra range could just come from that and not involve a mass increase at all because they no longer need more cells to make the range.

For reference the difference between 500 and 350 miles is around 430lbs for the extra battery cells.

Also the quad motor can also be lighter with the next gen drivetrain they showed, than even a current dual motor.

Any engineer can tell you what can be theoretically done based on math.

Good engineers can tell you that just because something is possible doesn't mean it's endlessly repeatable or cost effective at scale, based on math and experience.

Great engineers retain, even in their opposition to a concept, their capacity to be astonished by an unexpected result, and incorporate those learnings into future endeavours.

I don't get the sense that if Sandy or Cory were proven wrong in their predictions, they would refuse to accept it, or dodge ownership of their previous statements. And they've already been clear about Tesla's ability to astonish them.

As you all must know now, Corey has left Munro associates. And since he was the number 2 after Munro himself, things must have gone really bad offscreen. I think this is the last video they shoot together so I wonder if Sandy's biases have gone too far for Corey? Sandy is a giant in manufacturing techniques, but he lacks some overall vision, I think. Their collaboration with Aptera is an example. Elon dismissed Aptera in a single tweet and the videos we've seen some hour ago where an Aptera can't even go uphill prove how wrong was Sandy. I suspect Corey wants to start fresh with his own company.

Sam's specialty is taking down FUD. Aptera has been stumping for that last bit of cash, and Gamma wasn't a beta model designed to show off the drive train. As you can see in the video, the motors don't seem to be in the cooling loop that was on other models - they admit on one of the Discords that Gamma was incomplete.

Those motors don't usually need cooling, but in 100F weather, they do. My Zero doesn't have cooling and can get sad if it's that hot out. It's no biggie.

ok, this video misled my then.
However, Aptera was just something I picked randomly. I think that Corey and Sandy have different views on many things and that Cybertruck video shows it clearly. I can't say if it was the nail in the coffin, however hearing nothing from Sandy about Corey's departure makes me think they had some problem they could not fix

The irony of your response is that the last sentence is all about you!

and yes, I know you don't agree. That is the basis or our lovely relationship. :)

The Cybertruck is a light-duty truck, not a heavy-duty truck as I clearly laid out in the example I presented. And it's not about me questioning whether someone "deserves" a shiny new heavy-duty truck, and the nasty exhaust that entails, but more my attempt to have the owner look at their reason for buying it. You don't have to have a sense of humor to see how funny it is when someone buys a big shiny new heavy-duty truck and then parades it around downtown, just to be seen. This dynamic plays out across America a thousand times a day and, to me, it's a clear sign that the owner lacks self-confidence in who they are. It's a form of role-playing that, under existing regulations, they have every right to participate in, and I have every right to question, particularly when their role playing involves me breathing their nasty diesel exhaust, exhaust that is exempt from the usual passenger car requirements because it's a heavy truck.

It doesn't require any "nerve" on my part to illuminate the truth of the matter. The true nerve is of the people who have the nerve to make me breathe their nasty exhaust of their insecure role-playing, when a much lighter, cheaper, less polluting truck or passenger car would have the same functionality. It may be that I actually read them wrong, and they actually need a heavy-duty truck, in which case my question "whatch'ya been hauling" won't bother them a bit. That's the beauty here, they are only embarrassed if, deep down inside, they know their big heavy-duty truck is simply the result of their own insecurities.

The quicker that can come to the surface, the better.
