Better than the Taycan and has a massive bed ??That frunk doesn’t look as disappointing as everyone says it is… still has potential.
I'm definitely more optimistic about at least one golf bag fitting in there. Cory Steuben (From the DirtyTesla interview) might have been right with it fitting 2 golf bags depending on the concavity of the hood. That frunk doesn’t look as disappointing as everyone says it is… still has potential.
yes, well, these are RC1s not being built on the production lineDo they really tape the windshield and moon roof glass during final assembly? I had a damaged windshield and moon roof window on my Model Y and when they gave the car back to me there was tape on the window and they said to leave it there for a day (adhesive I assume). I did not think that windows are attached the same way in the factory. That seems very slow to me.
In the frunk?Nice, seems functional. People on this forum will be disappointed they can’t sleep in it though.
Really? I was under the impression that these RCs are being built on the production line only not production builds. What is required for a manufacturer to switch from partially-hand-built RC vehicles (RC1s I think was your terminology) to production-built? There are always parts of production that involve humans. Is it a soft or hard distinction?yes, well, these are RC1s not being built on the production line
Yours is the sort of confusion/frustration created by other folks not observing the meaning of words like “production vehicle”
I guess I took your point to be that you were surprised too see tape in a production process because it seems “slow”The question I asked was only about the glass installation. In a production build is the glass installed by a machine and does it use tape until the adhesive cures, or not?
Which surprise seems to assume this is a production processI did not think that windows are attached the same way in the factory. That seems very slow to me.
I do not think these are production vehicles. I know better. We all do. I was just asking about how windshields are installed in production vehicles and whether tape is needed. It would be slow if it had to be applied by people wouldn't it? Would tape be applied by a machine? I am still asking questions here.I guess I took your point to be that you were surprised too see tape in a production process because it seems “slow”
Which surprise seems to assume this is a production process
was only pointing out that assumption seems unwarranted
