Could THIS be the illusive UNICORN QUAD/PLAID
That's a Dream Time Machine....'Make it so'
there’s no quad

lots of duals, a few tris

that it’s being called the ‘performance’ model is almost certain this is a tri, like the plaid Model S

but the plaid nomenclature likely isn’t applicable because unlike the Model S in the CT the motor count is the model variant designator.

'there's no quad'. (TRUE that.)
When Elon said he would daily drive a CT, he 'meant' PLAID. I think he means it, and there will be such a BAD ASS BEAST.
Patience.....

Somehow I'm seeing a latest new Cybertruck right in the middle of the black marble in that mostly completed new entrance!

I know they did it before but I'd like to see it once more because now the entrance is new again. At least I'm hoping because I think it'd be cool!

Ya know…

The only place where the words “Plaid” and “CyberTruck” are used together is here. Musk said ”Performance”, like the M3P or MYP. It doesn’t have to say “Plaid” to be fast. We may get a different name, like ”Prefect” or “Trillion”…

To be fair Musk has tweeted about Plaid Cybertruck in the past. The fact he's reverted to calling it Performance coupled with what will likely be a higher power output would suggest a new name for it.

*educated* guess this is the tri, juiced special

So there will be two variants at launch (dual-motor and tri-motor)? If Tesla launches a Performance tri-motor in 2024 it will be the halo vehicle of all halo vehicles. That one is definitely not going to qualify for the $7,500 EV rebate, but the dual-motor definitely will.

Dual Motor is base, Tri-Motor is Performance and Quad Motor will be the Plaid.

I am guessing the current hints of the Tri-Motor are metal pedals and white interior trim.

It doesn't matter to me whether or not there is a Quad trim. As long as the top trim meets all of the Tri-Motor specs at the unveiling I am fine. In fact, a Dual-Motor trim getting 500+ miles range would have been fine for me. Elon is the one that said there would be a Quad trim and until he says otherwise I will assume one will show up eventually. Elon also said that he would be driving a Plaid Cybertruck way back when but never said what it would mean.

You guys may have better or newer information but this is what I go on.

You do realize that a Tri-Motor Cybertruck, with a 0-60 in 2.9 seconds is already a scary amount of acceleration, right? Why would anyone need a Performance version that would accelerate even faster? I would gladly give up some acceleration if I could get more range, but it doesn't work that way.

nobody said 2.9 isn’t the ‘performance’ version

folks have long appeared to have some strange assumption that dual vs tri was just like, some optional preference equivalent to choosing paint color

these are performance segregators, like the Model S “tri-motor” *is* the Plaid

the “Plaid” Model S is just the “tri motor” Model S

I had not thought of it that way but it does make sense. Tesla does differentiate Dual Motor Long Range from Performance, but I am not familiar with the Model S/X trim differences. Is the Tri-Motor Model S labeled Plaid and is there a motor difference between the Model S Performance and Plaid or is there even a Performance vs. Plaid?
