We are a 10 days from a "Delivery Extravaganza Event", but not retail deliveries. The event is to publish those figures you so crave.

people here are so often talking about how often they tow so large and heavy, and all I can think is “sounds like you maybe shouldn’t be driving a 1/2 ton truck”

To be fair, the 2019-described Tri motor appears to suggest Tesla was encroaching on 3/4 ton territory, with 3,500 payload and 14K towing, air suspension.

To be fair-fair to Tesla, people here are assuming that what is being released on Nov 30 is the only thing Tesla will ever release.

Which amounts to basically saying “if Tesla doesn’t release everything all at once, it’s quits for me”

Any brief review of Tesla history would suggest that it was maybe unreasonable to expect Tesla to release everything all at once.

Not saying Tesla is going to have an “HD” version, or anytime soon - I don’t know. It’s what will be most interesting to listen for on Nov 30
My assumptions since putting in my Nov 2019 reservation have changed.
(Note I do own a decent amount of TSLA stock, so I do want Tesla to do well)

YES, Tesla "promised" a 500 mile range Cybertruck, with 14,000lbs of range, and for only $69,000.
All to be delivered at the end of 2021.

Okay, the reality of physics & science has slowed some things down. Battery tech has not developed as quickly as Elon had planned on when he made those promises, for example. It might be 5 more years before a Tesla Cybertruck can be built with 500 miles of range - and not cost a gazillion dollars.

I will still buy the Cybertruck when my # is called, but I am disappointed it probably won't have 500 miles of range. Hope my # is at the top of the list before the end of 2025.....

True.

The Cybertruck is not going to blow the Ford F150 out of the water, as fan boys have hyped.
The CT will be a great ELECTRIC vehicle that happens to look funky and can be a pickup.
Ford will still sell a lot of trucks. The Cybertruck will probably take a sliver each out of Ram, GMC and Ford pickup sales. But certainly not wipe them out.

The first 2 years I expect the price to be high....like the Rivian and Lightning. Maybe in 2026 it will be less expensive. We will see. It sure will sell ....to those willing to pay the price.

FOOTNOTE. I owned a Ford F150. I sold it to buy the Ford Lightning. I like the Lightning way more than I did my F150. The Lightning is better in a lot of ways. Except for if I were towing an Airstream 1000 miles or pulling backhoes 300 miles to the cabin. I do miss the 35 mile gas tank which gave me 700 miles of range on trips.

Totally love the SMC bed! No liner needed. One more major component that won't corrode. "Built Tesla tough!" Sorry Ford.
They misspelled exoskeleton, maybe it was outsourced to another country then translated back to English.

I know when I put down my $100 that it said the configuration was subject to change. I really wish that the would be far more forthright in information on the current status and the changes that have resulted as time went by. The spec sheet should be accessible in our accounts by now.

Yes, frustrating I know. But, I doubt there are any retail customer deliveries (outside the Tesla family) until next year. Plenty of time to finalize and publish the specs. Sucks for us buyers who are trying to plan purchases, but Tesla has plenty of reservations to work thru; they don’t need to be more expédiant…

Big news!!!

As expected the Cybertruck beats out the 1/2 ton Ford Lightning in towing and payload.

The Big Three 3/4 and 1 ton platform team bosses just breathed a sigh of relief. The BEV Cybertruck won’t be competing in the high profit gas and diesel HD 2500/3500 pickup truck segment. They still have that lucrative market to themselves.

You know that Ford is taking these numbers to the 2025 F150 T3 development team to make sure that their all new 1/2 ton BEV truck beats the Cybertruck in tow and payload ratings.

-Cybertruck: 11,000 lb. max tow rating + 2500 pound payload
-F150 Lightning: 10,000 lb. max tow capacity + 2235 pound payload
-Rivian R1T: 11,000 lb. may tow capacity + 1764 pound payload
-Silverado EV WT: 12,500lb. max tow capacity + 2500 pound payload

Tesla Cybertruck Confirmed: 11,000 lbs tow rating / 2,500 lbs payload capacity (official specs)! + Shatter-resistant glass D1E7CBBD-9ABA-402B-AE16-365ED04CACCC

but, why?

they haven’t announced the specs yet. That’s what Nov 30 and after is for.

Also, statistically, each of our accounts are irrelevant for a *long* time still.

Whatever the configurator says when it’s launched, it’s all but irrelevant to the vast majority of buyers who *stil* won’t know what might be offered (or the price) once their number is called. At best it’s a rough understanding of where Tesla’s development is currently, plus possibly some marketing speech for where they expect to go next, by when.

It’s great the CT is coming out, and will be real. But statistically, almost *no one* is placing an retail order anytime soon.

Unless of course Tesla just stops calling numbers ? - in which case have your $[5,000] ready to spend as fast as possible, and *then* be prepared to wait (more).
